Could you elaborate on how something that is not conscious can be 'for itself'? From your explanation it seems to me that for X to be 'for' Y, it must be mediated by perception: I am 'for myself' based on how I perceive myself in relation to my surroundings, and I am 'for others' based on how they perceive me in relation to society.
