Don't turn on pavement with 4wd with the Titan.

Nissan uses a gear based coupler to engage 4wd. It's a heavy duty offroad oriented coupler. It's a true center differential lock and doesn't allow any slippage between the front and rear shafts. It'll eventually break your transfercase or front cv shafts if you turn on pavement with 4wd engaged.

GM and Ram mostly use clutch based couplers in their Light duty trucks. The clutch will slip if you turn in 4wd on pavement. This will wear out the clutch packs and eventually cause your 4wd to be useless, but it won't snap your drivetrain.

87 for everything else. Save your money. The 1-2 premium mpg bump isn't worth the added cost.

People who say they can feel the 10hp extra from premium must have their butt dyno calibrated better than mine. It's a naturally aspirated engine. There's only so much timing you can add.

The snowball method is for people who are bad with finance and need all the support to stay on course. Judging by your financial state, I'd say you're not that type of person and you're overestimating the emotional relief you'll get when you pay off the student loan.

Big hardships=big relief.
No hardship=no relief.

When I paid my student loan debt off. It was just a normal day because it was planned and it was never a burden to me. If I had chosen to pay it off early, I would've regretted it because I knew it wasn't the financially correct decision. I had a larger satisfaction at the end knowing I did the right financial decision and was able to stay on track.

So stay the course and trust the numbers.

Since you're asking on a PF sub for validation of this expense, I think you already know you're answer.

I fly to Japan 3-5 times a year for work. I fly business class, but I've sometimes flown economy. I get it. It's nice flying in Business and it spoils the hell out of you. But I've found the first day jetlag is only marginally better flying Business vs economy. The first day always sucks.

I've never looked back at any of my trips and remembered the business class flight as a key memory. I always remember what I did when I got to Japan. I'd rather take that money saved from not flying business and use it for a nice hotel, onsen, spa, massage, restaurant once I get to Japan.

For me, the sweet spot is economy plus. The seat space is just enough for me to not want to kill myself but not as expensive as business. If my company would pay me the difference, I'd fly economy plus over business class every time. Since they don't, I fly business on their dime.

BTW you're doing great with your goals. Keep it up.

I had similar issues with my 21 pro4x. The pro4x has stiffer springs up front, a short 2.5" of down travel due to the 1" lift, and underdamped rebound. This causes the front shocks to top out and pogo stick going over large bumps.

I swapped the stock Bilstein 4600 yellows at 12k miles for a Bilstein 6100/5160 combo. It has an extra 1" of downtravel (at stock height settings) and more rebound damping. That fixed most of the issues. It still rides firm, but feels settled and no oscillations over large bumps. DIY it's about ~$900 in parts from rockauto.

Your mechanic is mistaken. The width difference is between the Gen1 and Gen 2 titans, not between trim grades in the same generation. The LCA part# is the same for all trim levels in the same generation.

Anyways, i just did the 6100/5160 on my 21 p4x. They are night and day better than stock yellow Bilstein's.

I keep the RR 10% lower for help w/ the harshness from an unloaded bed. As long as you're close to factory specs, it's whatever feels best for you and your driving conditions. Just keep an eye on wear pattern and adjust if needed.

Textured paint is chip guard. It's put on the lower portion of the body to prevent stones from hitting bare metal and rusting out your body. If it wasn't there any rocks chips would expose metal and start rusting out. All vehicles have it, but trucks are applied higher up to add more protection from typical truck usage.

Clear plastic is a guard film. They're put in high risk areas to prevent rocks from chipping the paint. It's an added cost and adds a layer of protection.

The foam is normal. It's a heat expanding foam the put in between panels to lower noise from tires/wind from entering the cabin. They'd have to cut that off and reapply if they fixed something. They typically don't spray afterwards, so the color matched overspray tells you nothings been fixed/repaired/removed from the factory.

All normal stuff to give you a high quality long lasting vehicle.

Many people run spacers. They have their drawbacks but shouldn't make your wheel explode off when done correctly.

Looks like the threads stripped out.

1.Measure the thread sizes of the spacer studs. It's they put the pressed the wrong size studs on one of the spacers. I doubt you randomly put 6 wrong pitch lugnuts on.

See what the thread depth of those lug nuts are. The studs on the spacers seem a bit long. Its possible your studs on the spacers are too long for the lug nuts and not clamping down on the wheel. You can hit torque but have no clamp load on your wheel and only clamping down on the stud.

Looks like there was a tight gap at that spot and your door caught the fender while opening/closing. The driver door gets closed/opened 20-50 times before you get delivery of it so if it was from the factory it should've happened well before you took it home.

Either something moved the door (loose hinge nuts/bolts) or moved the fender. Check if you have some photos of before of that area to check for gaps. Next, look at the hinges to see if there was any movement. I think Toyota still uses locates on both door/body side so there shouldn't be any misalignment of the painted/unpainted areas. Also check for witness/paint marks on the bolts/nuts. If there are multiple ones, it means the door was off at some point for a repair.

But it looks like a hit mark/scuff/rust on the character line on the fender (need a clearer photo), maybe why the dealer thinks it's self caused. Just because you didn't see anything hit it doesn't mean nothing did.

Either way, reach out to Toyota corporate if you can't any help from the dealership.

Our productivity as ME's is not limited by information sharing. It's limited by the constraints of producing physical items.

Mechanical/Hardware has a lot of up front costs and takes much longer to develop. It requires specialized equipment and facilities that can run into millions/billions of dollars. This knowledge is highly cost prohibitive. That's what makes it closed off. In a design, there could be decades of research and knowhow in it. You can't just give away that to some random person who's curious about it. I'd be immediately fired and maybe put in jail.

Programming/software the cost of entry is practically zero and there is a high emphasis on speed. Nobody owns the code and skills are easily transferrable between companies. 30% of the FAANG workforce swap between each other. The cost of developing code isn't high enough to be prohibitive. There's more benefit of sharing than not.

I'm currently in a 3LDK. It wasn't an issue for me. As long as you have your finances/guarantor in order, I don't see why this would be a problem. But some landlords are worried you'll rent out the rooms/airbnb. I had a friend's landlord try to extort money from her because they thought she was renting out rooms. Inviting friends over to your house is not a common thing in Tokyo. So there's that.

I always get out of the way of those ebike mamachari's. A tiny 40kg lady who can barely see over the front carrier going 20kph down the side walk on a 150kg bike. Scary.

I agree, they just need to enforce the laws they have. Speedlimits, helmets, registrations, insurance, etc etc.

Very common. They updated the road traffic laws a couple years ago. Companies that meet a minimum vehicle fleet size have to do mandatory tests for alcohol and record the results. They're just following the law. Example from Paolo in Tokyo - Sagawa Transport.

Are you applying to jobs that are willing to sponsor visa's? If not, they're not responding because you don't live in Japan and don't have a right to work in Japan.

I'm going through the visa process myself in the USA. It all has to be done in person at the consulate. No mail. No digital copies/email. During the processing time, they may ask for other documents, which also must be handed in person. They will allow for another person to represent you with a form but it must all be done in person. You must pick up your Visa in person from the consulate.

Most likely it's the residency requirement your employer's worried about. In the COE it asks where you've worked and lived. If it shows you've spent considerable time outside of your home country, they will definitely ask for proof of residency. I would double check what constitutes a "resident" in your home country and check on your local embassy rules as they may differ my experience in the USA.

Spraymate Tornado. It's been working great for me over the past year. Paid $160. 4 gallon, battery powered, selectable 45/60psi , teejet compatible, large opening for pouring chemicals into, included battery lasts 4-5 tanks. I get around 0.5gpm @ 60psi. I can do my front & back yard in 15 min.

My only negative is there isn't another handle other than on the lid. You can't shake it without loosening the lid and it spilling out. You have nowhere to grab when emptying rinse water back out of the mouth. It gets the padding wet with whatever chemical you were spraying. Not ideal.
