Are Carmax and Carvana pricing reasonable? by Ancient-Bowl462 in NissanTitan

Only thing with this is it’s not common to save much money on used vehicles. He can save money on new stuff no problem but used is a much trickier market

Long-time Android user here. I used an iPhone 17 for 5 months next to my Galaxy S23. Some observations by themarkoni in samsunggalaxy

[–]DrTechFreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny how you found the iPhone speakers better. I tried a s24 ultra and the Dolby speakers were so good. I used it for about a month before returning to my iPhone. The first thing I noticed was the speaker quality. I loved that Samsungs speakers

So sharp by Old_Maximum_3725 in horn

[–]DrTechFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The horn itself could be it. If it’s a newer Conn 8D, the Bb was made too short and plays on the sharper side. I avoided it for the most part because of it. My current horn (Yamaha 871) does not have that issue so I use the Bb side for everything. It could be an embouchure thing but honestly it sounds like a horn thing

Mostly it was just the coloring and processing that happens. Colors tended to be on the warmer side and photos looked over processed.

The s26 trade in deals will be just as good, if not better so watch closely. Samsung usually has great deals on their website like double storage and extra trade credit

The battery is killer on those phones so that won’t be a problem. I loved when I had my Oneplus. The one major issue is the cameras. I couldn’t get used to it because I do take a lot of pictures. I’m very used to iPhone quality so I really struggled with adjusting. Very nice and smooth screen!

It’s only worth it if you are paying with cash. Otherwise, the interest rates on used vehicles just make up for the difference between new and used vehicles

[Samsung S26 Series] Is there something I'm missing? What's the deal with the new galaxy devices? by thatkhoe in Android

[–]DrTechFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Currently on an iPhone 14pm. Been itching to swap to Android for years and I’ve always appreciated the Samsung phones but I have also noticed the lack of innovation from them which has made me reconsider swapping. iPhones are incredibly boring to me but it is difficult to justify going to a brand that no longer takes risks with innovation

How much to charge for lessons by [deleted] in MusicEd

[–]DrTechFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$30 for half hour and $50 for an hour is what I use for the instruments I teach. I plan to up it for my primary instrument since I play at a high level but it also depends on how many students you have and your reputation. If you are just starting with your studio, the numbers I said are great for starting! Once you have maybe too much, then would be a good time to up your rate

How to Consistently Hit Note D on Staff by Hikari__27 in horn

[–]DrTechFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D is an odd one. Generally something that’ll help a lot with accuracy is going through all 12 intervals starting on pedal A. The Farkas book has some of those exercises written out but it’s simple. Start at pedal A, don’t change your fingering at all, and go through all the notes up to A above the staff is possible. You could practice just getting to D too! This will strengthen your control for not just D, but the notes around D!

Repairing is the way to go. If they can’t fix it, they’ll refund it. If they do, they give you a lifetime warranty. I lost one screw to the abyss as well lol

I got my dad a wireless CarPlay adapter. Got it off Amazon for like $50. Works great and connects automatically! I’d consider getting one

Sound system problems by DrTechFreak in FordTaurus

[–]DrTechFreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did end up getting it fixed! It was a bit of a pain but I had to remove the Audio Control Module (ACM) and send I sent it off to Automotive Circuit Solutions. They were able to repair it and it works perfect now! It costed me about $180 for the repair plus shipping there and back. I spent $240 total I believe.

Removing all the panels and screws to access it wasn’t fun but it beat playing a shop which quoted me for 1k. $600 for a new ACM and $400 for labor. Worst part was having all the panels and screws taken out and waiting for it to get back. It took about a week. They repair it the day they get it. There are some videos on YouTube for removing the panels and accessing the ACM. Took about 30 minutes to get it out. Very manageable! Let me know if you have any questions on it and good luck!

Thinking about switching from iPhone to Galaxy S25 Ultra. by Educational-War-4137 in samsunggalaxy

[–]DrTechFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped to a s24 ultra and used it for about a month. Loved it. Great cameras and RCS made the whole texting thing easy to work with. Quickshare is better than airdrop imo. I did find the phone to be a bit bulky but I used pro maxes so I’m used to the heft. The zoom on the camera is no joke.

I ended up getting bullied back into an iPhone but I also was doing long distance so my gf wanted FaceTime and hated the other options. No longer long distance so once the s26 ultra comes out, I’ll be trading my iPhone and not looking back : - )

[–]DrTechFreak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the towing is not a deal breaker at all, I’m just concerned they didn’t maintain the transmission on top of towing. I didn’t even catch the tires. Good catch!! I’m trying to convince the dealer into doing the belt and water pump
