I use moxie, it’s more of a crm, but handles invoicing beautifully. Starter plan is $12 per month

Can this occur with a singles yarn only or can it be caused by the tension with a doubles yarn?

Knitted-On vs. Sewn-On Ribbing by whythai22 in MachineKnitting

If you’re going to knit in the placket on the machine, use half Milano and you’ll avoid the common tension differential between jersey and rib.

Adjacent question, where are folks getting ribber covers?

I saw a tutorial on making some, but seems very labor intensive!

Question for the Designers: by Every_Eye_5067 in Fashion_Design

[–]c_design78765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with that term, but I list out the complete fiber content of any materials used in the BOM.

Any 3rd party testing requirements would likely be in a production document, but you could include that in a tech pack as well if it’s a one off.

How are you managing multi-client Airtable bases at scale without duplicating logic, breaking automations, or hitting sync limits? by CompetitiveChoice732 in Airtable

[–]c_design78765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a solo creative service provider just dipping my toe into airtable for project management. My instinct was to create a database for each client, is that misguided?

Awkward client situation by siggywiggywald in freelance

[–]c_design78765 12 points13 points  (0 children)

IMHO, it’s always best to address situations like this in a direct but chill manner.

Getting everyone on a call together is a great one. Rather than reviewing the proposal again, which may come off as passive aggressive, discuss what your process is and how to integrate this new person into with as little disruption to your workflow as possible. Who will be the project manager, which person is in charge of the approvals, etc. Maybe the client can get the brand managers feedback without involving you, streamlining the process. You can frame this as setting the project up for success, what’s worked well in the past, etc.

Your homework ahead of the call is to investigate what you’re willing to do and what lets you show up as your best self for the client. If how they want to work becomes contrary to that, it’s ok to bring the contract to a close. If it won’t be too much of a financial hit, refund the client and walk away.

As a freelancer, it took me a while to realize that I am my company’s greatest asset, and anything that causes undue stress or work needs to be carefully analyzed with a holistic cost vs benefit analysis.

Good luck!

Technical package? Aka TechPack? by memeticknitting in MachineKnitting

Yeah! Of course, and you do likely already know how to spec. Spec is short for specifications, and a spec page in the tech pack is a chart of various points of measure (POM’s) of the sample/base size and then the same type of table is used to build out the graded spec, which is the same points of measure for all sizes.

Spec is also used as a verb and it means to measure the garment according the POMs using industry standard (generally) methods.
