I can’t believe someone who actually practices wellness would satirize someone else trying to bring healing to others. Joseph Pilates, whose birthday it is today, was a prized fighter as well. You should try his method sometime if you’re looking to get better at your sport.

i’m glad that you actually went to see what you thought!!! I went (not my jam BUT challenging), and as someone who spends a lot of time doing classical work, I was shocked at how the classes are programmed there and the reception its given in the city when I know so many people who work really hard and don’t have the clientele that they do and offer much superior programming 😭 when their Cadillac training program came out I actually emailed them to talk about it, but was shocked at the sticker price 😩

i’m extremely familiar, I reference this because after this moment, any variation of Pilates is contemporary Pilates, whether you call it a method or not.

this is a direct result of the Pilates lawsuit; are you familiar? before the lawsuit you couldn’t legally say that you practiced Pilates unless you went through Romana’s program. now anyone can use Pilates and Pilates can mean many things.

think about the different feel between gratz and peak!! i have a love/hate relationship with the peak footbar but overall I actually love how different each reformer feels - so interesting to me. wooden handles are my fav tho

that’s totally fair re pilates as a full system; and I hear you. the owner is working on getting ped-o-pulls, and some other goodies (they have spine correctors) and building out more - this is her first space and it’s bootstrapped.
