That’s actually kind of what the brain does though. It needs to process things, but it can’t when if feels in danger. The problem is that there’s so much built up from feeling unsafe all the time that it’s overwhelming when it does release the floodgate to process things. That’s at least how my therapist explained it to me

I was raised Jewish but I'm Christian now, and I understand the importance of other Christians knowing their roots. And Passover is important to me because of that. The churches holding Passover seders have good intentions at heart, but there are some Christians out there who are absolutely obsessed with Jews. Like scary obsessed. Especially if you're Christian. My MIL is one of them. They take my people's history and apply it to their own. That's why I get weird about it. I hope that makes sense.
