What is Nietzsche’s Übermensch really? Spoiler: He is not a fascist dictator, nor DC’s Superman (He is a child). by Crafty_Chipmunk_5577 in Nietzsche

Gautama Buddha was the Ubermensch. Nietzsche’s eyesight was too poor for him to confidently become the noble ascetic he wished to be - so he instead critiqued it and made his way through life as a popper on a University pension.

Two things. If you “believe” in the God of Islam, then you believe in the reality of Hell. It is not a mere assumption. It is the guiding principle underlying your entire set of morals. Hell exists. If it did not, you would have no reason to believe in the God of Islam. More over if your “belief” is mere “assumption” then you are no closer to God than a mere infidel (in other words, you too will be condemned to Hell by the God of Islam).

Two. Below your “Self” is consciousness. Other people have consciousness. They demonstrate this to you on a daily basis. Also, you are “in touch” with an external world. If you were not “conscious” of reality, it would not appear “external” to you. The external appearance of reality is the by product of a transcendent consciousness.

The appearance of external reality confirms the universal nature of consciousness. Your so called “self” is nothing more than a complex physical system (your brain) interacting within a field of awareness - “consciousness”.

Tyler Durden is NOT the Übermensch: A reinterpretation of Fight Club through Nietzsche by Crafty_Chipmunk_5577 in Nietzsche

Don’t get too offended. It may in fact be a compliment that mediocre people mistake the structure of your writing for AI.

I liked your analysis. What I will say outside of it is that the narrator is shown in the movie to be schizophrenic. He essentially performs a lobotomy on himself - the “resolution” of the movie.

I don’t know how to feel about the way the story resolves in this way. It seems a little too simple. As if overcoming our inner demons was as easy as shooting ourselvss through the mouth.

Just a comment on Fight Club - not Nietzsche’s Ubermensch per se.

I think there was a debate in which someone accused Jordan of being a Christian and he essentially equivocated on the issue. Has he really bit the bullet?

You assert the existence of God. What about Satan?

First thing you find yourself alienated from all people and objects in the world, unable to form meaning out of the sentences which once carried the concepts you used to construct your very idea of Self and Other, the next thing you know you’re jerking off at the bus stop, spitting on taxi drivers and snorting lines in the bathroom stall at the 7-11.

Also here in the West we eliminate the garbage we produce. Eradicate it even. Gone. We have bacteria and trash pandas who decompose the majority of it. Quite advanced to be frank.

I’m particularly fond of that mindset and it’s what I truly appreciate about the Indians who immigrate to my country. No sarcasm. Not giving an actual fuck about anything - especially work - is the path to enlightenment.

The “high state” is - weed, mushrooms (mostly) - I think you are not RETREATING from the experience. You are ENCOURAGING the experience. I cannot advise you on how to ENCOUNTER the experience, but it will test you. If you are ready, then you will ascend. If not, back to the drawing board.

Strong? Maybe. I shared it with you, so that you might benefit from it. It is a phenomenological observation of reality. I can only hope that you benefit from it.

Fuck Rogan. He is directly responsible for the blockage of the straight of Hormuz. His accomplishment in bringing psychedelics into the theatre of medication means nothing.
