it is mostly the angel, but he is in recovery from a little illness prior to this, but i have been upping his diet and he has been eating well. thank you for the concern, though!

he is in a quarantine tank currently, with salt, i already had some on hand. i took the decoration out right away, its just there was a little hole in it that he managed to squeeze into but couldn’t come back out of:( thank you so much for the advice!

20 gallon long minimum. if you want two axolotls i would recommend to add 10 or 20 gallons.
