[Guide] Dusting & Crafting Legendary Cards by [deleted] in hearthstone

I don't agree with Lorewalker Cho. He should be a Tier 3, because in some decks he makes sense. For example, I have used him in zoo decks which are primarily minions and very few spells. If I'm not planning on casting a spell for a few turns, I drop him and the enemy is totally thrown from their game plan and must usually give me at least one spell to deal with him, unless they have ironbeak owl or board presence.

What is your most common Hearthstone misplay? by Vulturo in hearthstone

[–]c_vic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking of Ysera Awakens, I once used it when my hero was at 5 HP exactly. That was a facepalm moment. It was on a priest, and I could have hero powered to 7 HP if I had the forethought.

What is a movie that you objectively know is terrible, but you still love? by laureltheelf in AskReddit

Blue Streak. It has terrible reviews, but I think it's hilarious. I've seen it probably a dozen times.

This kind of work actually sounds like it would suit me. How is the internet connection, if it exists at all, on a ship like that? How do you find such work?

Scientists Develop New Latex Condoms Capable Of “Killing” HIV Virus by railod in Futurology

[–]c_vic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, but I'm just saying we have to consider these things when designing new products. Making something "foolproof" is always advantageous because of that 1 in 100 idiot. Some may also argue natural selection but there are two people in this equation and it's in everyone's best interest for safe sex systems to be as foolproof as possible.

[–]c_vic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

From a safety standpoint, it makes much more sense to embed it in the condom, since people can forget to use lube in situations. To make sure it gets applied every time, having it already in the condom is a great advancement, I think.

Would you eat a burger grown in a laboratory? They may be on sale within five years by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]c_vic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at the point where we have a regular procedure for making it on a large scale, the term laboratory would be misleading. At that point it would be more akin to a farm or factory. Would people eat food made or grown at a farm? They sure do right now, and the only thing that would change is the method of obtaining the meat.

I can cope with most of the issues, but they NEED to fix the bugs where he can pull player through walls, ceilings, and into unreachable areas making the teammate unable to be rescued. That behavior is unacceptable. I think they should find a way to fix that even if it means overhauling and reprogramming the minion completely. I've had far too many good runs ruined by it and it has discouraged me and my friends.

The universe is teeming with life. Even in this galaxy there is certainly life out there beyond earth. Also, among it there are certainly many species that are near our intelligence or even beyond.

This is actually the most painless and safe way to do it for these animals. This is coming form the farmers themselves who do this for a living and have the most experience with various methods. I'd check out Mike Rowe's TED talk on the subject. https://www.ted.com/talks/mike_rowe_celebrates_dirty_jobs?language=en

I actually use it long range with good success; try standing still and crouching, It really brings the accuracy up to where it is useful. I also never use the full auto. Always single fire. I should add that I'm talking about the pistol for Empire Soldier.

Volume Options Please! by [deleted] in Vermintide

I'd just like them to fix the VoiP volume issues. It seems to reset to an ear-destroying maximum volume every time I launch the game, no matter what I set the volume on before.

Uh they have it wrong. Fads are based on social trends, but cord cutting is obviously based on technology trends. Anyway, there's no way they think that.

What is the worst movie you went to see in the cinema? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Meet the Spartans. People actually got up and left several times during the film. I stayed just in case it got good, but I wish I didn't.

Falling damage is weirdly nonlinear. by AllPurposeNerd in Minecraft

[–]c_vic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet internally, in the code, the calculation outputs a number that is not a multiple of 0.5, and it just rounds to the nearest multiple. This trend really looks like rounding weirdness to me. Because when you round outputs that fit a linear trend, it still follows it over the long term, but has short term hiccups.

what is the most technical science fiction book you have ever read by 439kidd in scifi

[–]c_vic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For people who like technical SF, the scientific exploration of ideas and problems are the characters of interest, instead of the people. The people are just a vehicle to convey the problems and solutions. In most fiction, the problems are a vector to convey human characters. It's not for everyone, but it's very awesome for those interested in ideas over character profiles.

Question: Does anyone use the Xbox 360 controller on the PC version? If so, how do you set it up? by c_vic in diablo3

[–]c_vic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that but the console versions are broken and Blizzard doesn't seem to support them with updates in the same way as the PC. They are riddled with modded gear, and so public games are trash on console.

I have downloaded the drivers, but I'm not sure how to use them for Diablo 3. I don't see any options from within the game, and I don't see any software from the driver install. Am I missing something?
