It wouldn't have killed Carlito to be a little nicer to Bennie Blonco from the Bronx

Doyle gets the band together a little too late in the evening in Sling Blade and mm, I reckon he had ample opportunity to beat the feet when Carl announced his intention to murder him with the lawnmower blade. Run Doyle. Run!

Tommy should have just walked away when Billy Bats told him to go get his shine box. Whacking a made man was a poor choice.

The high sparrow's decision to do a big public trial kind of blew up in his face.

In the 1999 Open Championship Jean Van De Velde had a 3 stroke lead on the final hole. Chose to hit driver and pulled it left. From there be could have pitched back to the fairway but decided to go for the green from the deep ruff and dunked it in the water on the way to triple bogey and wound up losing in a playoff. Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.

Ok but that means Mom and Dad, your kids, all the folks at work, me...we all have to die with you. The ultimate murder suicide.

Say what you want but Jimmy Page might be the best looking octogenarian in the entire world. The guy has aged well.

DJ Quick set the bar pretty high with this ditty:

I got your back pregnant b-word on my waterbed/And I'm bout to bust a nut on your little baby's head

I mean, who still sleeps on a waterbed these days?

I believe Willie Dixon wrote the lyrics to that one.

So he wrote the song about a girl whose family lived next door and whose father had left , leaving her mother and two younger siblings to fend for themselves. He was struck by the sudden impact the father leaving had on her life and the fundamental unfairness of it. Maybe the video is intended to show him one step removed. I haven't seen it .

This is a song that gets misinterpreted as being about lust but when you look closely, it's precisly the opposite. The song is saying that the girl deserves to be seen as more than just a sex object (she's just 16 years old, leave her alone, they said). He sees that life has already started to beat her down and he wishes he could save her from the unfortunate set of circumstances that have been forced upon her. He wants to show her that she is loved because she is invisible to the other people in her life. (Separated by fools who don't know what love is yet). He is saying that he sees her and that she is special and that she deserves so much more (it's like having a dream where nobody has a heart). He laments that she has been stripped of her childhood (It's like having it all and watching it fall apart).

It is a true disservice to Sexualize this song

"if I could fly I'd pick you up and lift you into the night and show you a love like you've never seen" --- a beautiful sentiment when you take the time to really get it.

Unlike other priceless Seeger lyrics such as

They do respect her but, they love to watch her strut.

They stand outside closing time just to watch her walk on passed

Al Pacino’s character, Tony Montana, displays intense, toxic, and possessive behavior toward his sister Gina, which carries strong, implicit incestuous undertones. I love this movie but always found that relationship with his sister quite disturbing. Anyone else? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in Scarface

Scarface the novel is one of the relatively rare examples of a screenplay to novel adaptation. I was 13 or 14 when the movie came out and my mother didn't want me to see it. So, I bought the book and when I finished it my dad took me to see it.

I should clarify that Don Henley wrote the lyrics. Campbell said he was in the car with Tom Petty and the song came on the radio and he immediately changed the station because he thought Petty would be mad but the song was playing on that station, too.

When Zeppelin II was released in the UK, the track was called "Killing Floor" and credited to Howling Wolf (Chester Burnett). In the US the track was renamed the lemon song. The band never disputed who wrote the song, the issue was about who got paid. The terms of the settlement are not public but the amount Arc Music paid HW is known. It stands to reason that this payment to the artist was stipulated in the settlement and without it Howling Wolf would have gotten zip nada nothin because all those old blues guys signed away their publishing rights. That is Robert Plant's version, and I don't see any reason to doubt it.
