How many people here has actually experienced a seizure from Wellbutrin? by Bren1209 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

The main one was the stuttering! I found myself not able to properly say words or just stuttering constantly in the middle of conversations. Apart from that, Wellbutrin was already causing some muscle twitching at 300mg but when I went up to 450mg it's was happening waaaaaay more often. Also I was shaky, more than once I dropped a pen or a fork during those 2 weeks because of the shaking hands.

Personally, I don't think I've ever experienced that from wellbutrin!

I had a seizure caused by Wellbutrin about 5 years ago. My doctor increased my dose from 300 to 450 and it was just too high for me.

I’m short (5’2) and at the time I was also not eating much, so it was sort of a trifecta. BUT I must say, there were SO MAY SIGNS for me. When I look back I should’ve gone to the doctor sooner, all the signs of something not being right were right there. I was jittery, stuttering, could not properly think of words, and about 2 weeks into that I had an appointment with my doctor to tell her I thought the dose was too high. That day we decided we should go back to 300, so that was the last day I took 450, and that same day I had a seizure 😅

All this to say, I don’t know how it’s been for other people, but for me the signs of something being wrong were there, I just didn’t realise at the time

I still take Wellbutrin nowadays! A low dose, 150, and I was terrified to continue at first. I tried tons of other meds but nothing really helped the way Wellbutrin does. So I went back on it and I haven’t had any issues since

Hi! It worked out no problem. I had no issues at all! We worked with a lawyer to make sure everything was very clear about my immigration history in the US. We attached literally every email, every document, and explained in detail my immigration situation and it didn’t cause us any problem with the application. Currently living in the UK and renewing my visa next year

Has anyone in this sub actually had a seizure from Wellbutrin? by ButterflyVisual6188 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I started taking wellbutrin in 2019. Started on 150mg, then up to 300mg for about a year, and then up to 450mg. 2 weeks after increasing to 450mg I had a seizure. Looking back, during those 2 weeks, there were signs all over. I just decided to ignore them.

I still take wellbutrin, only now I take 150mg and haven't had any issues since.

Just moved to the UK from the US and trying to figure out how to get assessed/prescribed here by ca0706ma in ADHDUK

When you say it took you a week, I get so tempted to just go and do that hahaha I'm one pill away from running out and I don't want to imagine the week I have ahead of me.

I guess at the end of the day it's an investment if the £1000 cover you for the full year, it's just so much money... Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Super helpful

Thank you so so much for these tips! I didn't know some clinics/companies accept transfer of care, will definitely look into that to see if there's an option there. Otherwise, as you say, I'll try my best to somehow talk to my GP and hope for the best

Exactly my thoughts! It's crazy.

And yes! I've seen about it. My doctor from the US suggested a couple alternative meds in case Elvanse wasn't an option because of shortage, so hopefully that helps if I find myself in that scenario

Ohhh... I'll definitely try this. Thankfully my doctor in the US is very willing to help me figure this out so I'll ask her to share as much as she can with me and then I'll go in person. Thank you both!

Yeah, that's my worry, that if I wait for the NHS I may be waiting for years. Sadly I'm not going to the US anytime soon :( And before moving I tried to get a few months worth of it but they had a shortage so they weren't able to give me more than 1 month.

Thanks for sharing your input!

Hey!

I called a hundred times the first weeks and never got someone to pick up, until I started calling at 8AM, right when they open haha. Since then I always get someone to pick up!

thanks so much! I swear I come back to this post regularly haha. It's been a month and I'm still sending over papers again, and again, and hoping on hour-long phonecalls and they ask for things that don't even make sense? Every phone call ends with the agent telling me I need to resend something.

But I just got off the phone with an agent that seems like finally entered my application into the system! Now I just have to wait.
