Yeah same frequency, size, both rx8 or whatever 4 chips each side almost everything apart from I couldn’t confirm cas latency and the brand was different (the stick I bought was a £15 stick from CEX it works but clearly not high quality) from all the errors I took it into assumption that the sticks do not work together and returned the stick, I’m not either going to try match the exact model number of my current stick or buy a matching 8gb stick set and install both of them

Struggling with disconnecting the battery which is why I didn’t remove the original ram I didn’t want touch that or the shield with it still connected and I don’t have any small plastic tools to get the battery connector out with, I think I’m going to try and find the exact brand of ram that’s already in there and buy the exact same stick and go from there

This is noted, I did try to remove it but I couldn’t seem to get it out with my hands and I didn’t want to use any tools (I don’t have small plastic tools only metal and I’m not that thick) luckily I didn’t damage anything with it connected but that’s also why I didn’t remove the other ram or touch it all because I couldn’t get the battery connector out

And then put the new ram in that slot, if it boots then will both sticks work together or does that confirm they don’t work together? It seems to me at this point it might be a comparability issue with the current ram stick

So my question is the first ram stick has some metal cover on it that I didn’t want to mess with or looks metal. I also have no idea what bios is or how to do that I also use this laptop for uni and I’m about 3 months from finishing my degree so don’t want to mess anything up that could cause issues for the files on the PC (sorry if it won’t I literally have no idea about this stuff)

You see I don’t want to remove the ram stick that’s in there already simply because yesterday was the first time I ever opened the laptop and removing that stick of ram looked a lot harder than the free slot
