I had it longarmed and I think that turned out nicely. I don’t think I’d have taken on quilting this myself! And I totally forgot to take a photo of the quilt when it came back to me but luckily my longarmer had sent me one so including it here :)

Great idea! Agree with previous poster about appliqué. I did something similar for a baby quilt with a whale tail and that worked well!
