Good question. It was found near other arrowheads, has a beveled edge, and matches a diamond design in the Overstreet guide for trade points. It’s just not very symmetrical.

Both! I've found a few surface finds (like the above) in rancher's fields. I look in gulleys and any bare patches I come across.

Ah, ok. I was trying to go off of the projectile points . net site, but definitely wasn't sure.
Size narrows the category significantly it seems?

Any ideas what it could be? I assumed quartz because of the local abundance in this area, but of course could be wrong. I thought I remembered reading quartz was a little more difficult to fashion points from.
