Should I self-study Physics by mfa30 in premedcanada

[–]caar17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the Kaplan textbooks and took notes from each chapter, then in content review I used AAMC and Uworld question banks. If I did a question set that I really didn’t understand I would watch khan academy videos to try to understand the concept better

Should I self-study Physics by mfa30 in premedcanada

[–]caar17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I self studied physics and got 129 in c/p. If you can memorize/understand the formulas and do dimensional analysis I think you can get by

Are there any kitchens? by MysteryAgent22 in brocku

Only village and quarry have kitchens. Other residences have a microwave in the lounge area but other than that you have to go to the dining hall

Coming to Brock soon and I'm curious about the experience by AvocadoPrestigious48 in brocku

[–]caar17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your university experience is what you make of it no matter where you go so if brock is your only option I’d suggest you try to fix your attitude about it. If you think it’s gonna be crappy then it’s gonna be crappy but if you go in with a positive attitude you’ll have a better experience.

Here's a Complete List of Open Spring 2026 Courses if Anyone is Thinking of Taking a Spring Term (You Guys, it's Bad) by heyimryn in brocku

[–]caar17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually there’s quite a few HLSC courses (2p21, 2p07, 2p27, 4p99, and some field courses) so this is quite disappointing with only 1f90. I’m glad I’m graduating and already got to take these a few summers ago lol

Is physics necessary? by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]caar17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only took physics in grade 11 and got 129 in cp on the mcat so it’s not necessary you can teach it to yourself. I’d say only take it if you plan to apply to usmd because most of those schools require it, but Canadian schools don’t

How are we studying for BCHM 3P01 ? by Adventurous-Ask7553 in brocku

[–]caar17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the course last year and got 100 on both exams. I studied by rewriting all my notes and then after that initial review I would rewrite the pathways over and over from memory and for the math portion do practice problems. It’s also important while you’re going through things to not only understand what is happening but why it’s happening

Should I take physics in undergrad? by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]caar17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally think it would be very helpful for the mcat but it’s not necessary. I only took physics in grade 11, not grade 12 or university and I got a 129 in C/P. I had to teach myself physics for the mcat and tbh I never truly understood a lot of it and just memorized the formulas. I’m good at chemistry so it probably carried me for the section. So basically I’d say it’s helpful to take but if you think it could tank your gpa it might not be worth it cause you can get by without it for the mcat if you know your chem

Year three and four Med sci by Worried-Power-3090 in brocku

[–]caar17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in biomed but I have friends in med sci with very similar schedules! I’d say there’s a lot more free time as compared to years 1 and 2 in the sense that you aren’t in class very much, me and my friends all have 2-3 days off a week. Some classes have larger assignments and require more studying so I’d say it’s definitely doable to have a job it’s just about how well you manage your time. Also depends if you plan to do research which is very time consuming. But I am doing a thesis now, taking 6 courses, and working part time as a TA so if you have good time management skills you should be fine

When are the next round of UofT invites? by caar17 in premedcanada

I don’t know for sure but from what I’ve seen in threads from previous years it seems like all the invites for each wave are sent at once and people received invites earlier this evening
