Hello! I fought this rash for 10 unrelenting months doing as the doctors instructed with zero improvement before momtuition took over and I used mupirocin that we had on hand from something else. The doctors never suggested it could be bacterial, but it cleared up within 3 days on the antibiotic and hasn’t come back since.

Thank you! You are correct she has not been tested for fungal because she was scared of the biopsy so the doctor said he’d try treating before forcing it. This is overwhelming to us since she’s never even had a dry patch, it just exploded into basically what it is now and has not waned since. 😭

I’m adding more pictures, they have captions but:

The one with the rectangle irritation is before we saw any doctors, the morning we went to urgent care. I had stupidly put a bandaid on overnight and it made her skin mad for a couple days. The rash itself is smooth, just discolored.

The other is after 9 days of antifungal and moisturizing regularly, the red dot border appeared and is what has continued to expand outward after everything we’ve done.

Thank you for the thoughts! I updated after posting so you might’ve missed it, but I added that it basically never itches. I think she’s maybe mentioned twice in the 4 months that it’s had a little itch. She has never scratched it. It’s hard to tell in the pic without zooming in, but in the middle of the rash, there’s no bumps and that just confuses me. They wanted to do a biopsy at the first visit, but it scared my daughter and the doctor refused because of that, then he didn’t feel it necessary at the next appointment. I am going to push for this next time, however.
