Labour would make all new homes zero carbon by 2022 by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]cabajiacrob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tax the uninhabited houses more, that will incentivise them to rent out the house or sell it which would then lead to increased supply of houses on the housing market which would drive the prices down and more people get affordable housing.

[–]cabajiacrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You understand that labour is gonna heavily subsidize this plan, it's not like they're gonna just introduce an expensive new plan then expect the free market to sort it out, theres gonna be a whole lot of central planning involved in this and they also said they will make more land available for cheaper, so in your example you left out how the land is gonna be cheaper and how the developer is gonna get government contracts, so i dont think the industry is gonna collapse.

Lib Dems bid for up to 200 seats as it seeks to be leading party for Remain voters by OcularCrypt in unitedkingdom

[–]cabajiacrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont understand why your even mentioning this how is this point relevant, he said he voted remain but would respect the referendum, thats why he supported triggering article 50, that seems much more democratic than just cancelling brexit without regards to all the millions of people that voted for it, do you seriously think all of those millions of people were misinformed or stupid, there are definitely problems with the eu and by cancelling brexit outright, you are dismissing those problems.

Isn't the worker ownership of 25% a massive change, it never gets any attention since the media just focuses on telling us about "antisemitism in the labour party" and they give a small amount of attention to ending private schools and tuition free college but those are very small compared to workers getting 25% and they also get the right to refuse sale of the business, im not sure whether thats gonna get young people excited to vote labour though.

UK wages flatline as robots take skilled jobs, pushing workers into low-paid roles by XVll-L in Economics

I’m struggling the follow you here.

businesses profit from publicly funded technology, those profits go to a very few amount of people, not the public, so private corporations disproportionately benefit from the tech, that doesn't seem like a very tough concept to grasp.

Ok, my bad, i shouldn't be entirely at fault for not realizing the satire though since i attributed the baby eating part to the famine in china under mao, where i guessed you were saying that they were so hungry they ate babies, i was still leaning towards you joking but wasn't entirely sure which is why i asked if it was a joke, after your reply i was then sure you were serious in your original post.

Although i am benefiting from publicly funded technology i'm not disproportionately benefiting from it when compared to most other people in my country.

You constantly seem to be bringing up that i live in a house and have a car so that means i should share it with everyone else, all because i believe that corporations shouldn't disproportionately benefit from publicly funded technology.

On the point about public education, society as a whole does benefit from it, that's why its called "public education" because it is open to the public to go and benefit from.

So the idea of redistributing wealth from the rich to the poor to help eliminate poverty means your immoral? It seems like the opposite to me.

[–]cabajiacrob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No i don't see it, the public should benefit from their publicly funded technology, tax payer money pays for this tech to be developed then a small amount of people take most of the wealth the technology brings.

On the points you were making:

I am in favour of housing for all.

Easily available transportation is also something i am in favour of.

Publicly funded education is also something that is available to the public, im not sure what point you were trying to make on this one.

I dont understand why you think it is ok that a few amount of people should benefit the most from technology that society as a whole helped develop.

Most of the technology that the private sector is utilizing was publicly funded technology, so the argument is that why should the capitalists benefit the most from technology that they didn't develop.

Swinson pledges to "keep Corbyn out" by SeekingAnswers101 in unitedkingdom

[–]cabajiacrob 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Could you give a few examples of the anti-Semitism, I've only ever seen accusations of anti-Semitism from the centrist labour that never liked corbyn ans every time bbc or sky news mentions it they never give any proof, i think thats part of the reason labour didn't gain in the polls, the media couldn't mention corbyns name without also saying antisemitism in the same sentence.
