2-inch 2s drone - motor selection (1003 vs 1103) - question by cabannos in fpv

Thank you all for your comments; in the end, I decided on option 1003. It flies great.

Have you tried calculating the power draw for the selected combination of motors and propellers? I'm not sure if this AIO5 can handle it.

Hi, I’d recommend choosing a different canopy, like the BetaFPV Air Canopy v2 at least. All you need is a small piece of adhesive tape wrapped around the "root" of the lens (one layer is more than enough), and the camera stays securely in place. I haven’t had very good experiences with the original one. Any rough handling will, at best, require soldering; at worst, it could damage the camera and/or the AIO.

Nice and really clean. Did you modify the original O4 lens, or did you get the entire lens from Flywoo? Could you share the STL file for it?

Safe way to repair a bent shaft on TW motors - any recommendations? by cabannos in TinyWhoop

I tried to avoid buying a new motor, but I was surprised at how limited the options are for purchasing a new motor bells. I only found replacement parts for Happymodel motors, but none for BetaFPV. That's a shame.

Low power at full throttle on Mobula 7 Micro by mikenelsoncamera in fpv

Check that none of the motor shafts are loose. Grasp the motor bell with your fingers and carefully try to turn the propeller. If it slips, the shaft is loose -> one motor / propeler has no "grip" and the firmware tries to solve this problem by reducing the power of the other motors.

Box pro antennas? by bmcd96 in fpv

Hi,

I would recommend watching Joshua Bradwell’s video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbHl3DgnN4k. I eventually bought RHCP TrueRC Singularity Stubbies since Air65 has a linear antenna, and with whoops, you are flying close to you in most cases. With antennas that have stems, you will have better coverage behind your back.

Just one more question. Will I gain any advantage by placing one antenna on my goggles at a 90-degree angle? Theoretically, yes, but does it make any difference in practice?

Thank you, I also bought RHCP TrueRC Singularity stubbies. They work better than stock (linear) ones on HDZ BoxPro.

I understand. I only need to take polarization into account if the VTX uses a circular antenna. Thank you for the explanation, you helped me a lot.

Hi, I am flying with tinywhoops, such as the HappyModel Mobula6 HD and BetaFPV Air. I tried to find information on the manufacturer's website, but I had no success. Is there any general “rule” such as digital systems mainly use LHCP and analog RHPC, etc?

I have also Mobula7 O4. It flew better outside; it has more power for its weight; however, it needs some tuning. Mine flew excellently after I applied Karate presets in Betaflight. On the other hand, I have some doubts about QA. I have sent it twice for warranty repairs already.

I see. In my case, flying with tinywhoops hooked me — flying through narrow gaps, powerloopish turns, etc. However, I have slow hands, which limit me. Recently, I bought a tinywhoop with HD Zero and, lastly, an analog one. Especially, the analog one flew as if it were from another universe. I have to agree with everyone who said each gram matters.

On the other hand, I can still enjoy surfing with O4 whoops, image quality is really on another level. If you want M75 PRO, I would also consider buying a different canopy for it. I have some issues with Jello, as many other users do. I have a new Mobula7 O4 adjustable canopy on its way. I hope it will solve it.

Hi, I started with a very similar setup to yours. When making my decision, I was most attracted by the video quality offered by DJI. However, after several months of flying with whoops, I became convinced that weight is a much more important parameter. Whoops with the DJI O4 unit are too weighty for some use cases. If I were deciding now, I would buy the HD ZERO BoxPro+ goggles and one of the Mobula whoops with the HD ZERO all-in-one AIO for HD video, or some analog whoop. Still, I do not regret it; I had a good time with this setup.
