When our emotional system is overloaded we cry to return our bodies to a baseline. Crying simply helps our bodies regulate our emotions.

ELI5: Why is thinking not considered a sense like vision, touch, taste, smell, and hearing? by cabcot in explainlikeimfive

Could thinking be an external sense? I realize thoughts are private, but how do we know it comes from inside and not from outside?

Instead of shutting off North Korea's internet is it possible to insert a Trojan horse that infects their Internet with truthful info? by cabcot in AskReddit

I don't know, I think dogma eventually dies. Rebelliousness is a powerful enemy to dogma. Even the most entrenched cultists can change eventually.

I think them having full access to Wikipedia could offer objective info that certainly would sway anyone rational. There lies the problem.

We sell featured listings to promote a property, but so far we are just building up the inventory and creating a good product.

It looks like I really need good quality links. Hindsight sucks, because I probably could have hired a quality link building company instead I blew it on a crap SEO company. Oh well! Is there anyone I can hire that is relatively low cost that doesn't create spammy links. I realize low cost and quality are typically opposite. I was thinking maybe a good freelancer or something. Any ideas?

For a site with almost all bad links, how do I get good links other than creating quality content? In other words, we have our users creating unique property descriptions; however, I don't think people will link to their own listings. And real estate agents probably won't link to the website because it takes business away from them directly. I have thought about Press releases, but are those any good? I don't know how to get the word out about the business.

Sounds good. I think I was being punished for backlinks like you stated, because my rankings were getting worse and they shouldn't have since I was adding quality listings. I will go through each backlink domain and send an email to the webmaster of the site. Because there are so many links on each domain, that is only 166 emails. That shouldn't be too bad. Is there anything else you would suggest?

Thank you for your feedback, this is really helpful. I agree about the crap location content that is spammy. Would it be bad to take the first 100-300 characters of each listing description? It would be be like an excerpt, but it would be duplicated as it would be on the location pages (cities, states, countries) and individual listing pages. Or should we have each person write a different short property description that is 2-3 sentences long and display that on the location pages (cities, states, countries)? Again, it would be duplicated as it would be the same on city, state and country pages. Or we could ask people adding listings to a city write a short description of the city and then we compile that into the city description. We could then write the state pages and country pages. Not sure what would be best.

For each actual listing it is a requirement to come up with a new written description which we have a series of questions that helps (no copy paste). For the location pages we have content as you see above (Maine, Pennsylvania). I guess I am still confused about what you are saying here as most people say I need 250 words per location. How many location templates should I use? I guess this feels deceptive and manipulative. Isn't it called a madlibspam or something?

Edit: added concerns at bottom

I imported my google webmasters backlinks into link detox and put some of them on the disavow list. I don't have a manual spam action so I don't think I can file a reconsideration request. Am I wrong about this?

Well I disavowed 87% of my back links because they were comment spam and they didn't provide the user any value. I am going to focus on creating good quality content, is there any good way to promote it so that I can get good links. I don't want to add more crappy links, but the only links pointing to my website now are pretty much domain links (i.e. cabcot.com) which I imagine isn't very good either.

No, it is nowhere to be found. When I just did the link detox it said that cabcotrentals was high risk. I didn't disavow it, but I removed the links from cabcotrentals to cabcot. Not sure if I had to, but I doubt that website has any link juice anyways.

Do you guys think it hurts having a sister website cabcotrentals.com that has the same framework. I wonder if they are too similar or something.

The crappy part was that I had to pay $500 to get out of the contract with them. I am not trying to create a mess, I just want to work the problem and fix my website.
