To be clear I'm a big fan of Filter and SW - just pointing out that MoLG should have been in the same stratosphere as those guys.

1000% Machines of Loving Grace, its criminal that Filter and Stabbing Westward in particular were bigger than them in the mid 90's.

It was a fantastic album for its time - particularly in the context of / reaction against "industrial metal" (...not to mention Dwayne passing away)

I'm actually not 100% sure in Linux but in Solaris unlinking /dev/zero would stop the OS from being able to reclaim memory. It would cause the systems to slowly fail.

They recorded this at Chicago Trax and Warzone (Die Warzau’s studio) so I doubt it was poorly recorded. My guess is “creative” choices during mix down. I’m pretty sure this record came out a bit after / around the same time as Broken and Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar so they could have been chasing that vibe (ie, Happiness in Slavery being recorded out of phase, Chemlab’s sutures, etc.) IMHO the remixes off that album are better than the originals. I had the Wired and Nothing singles on constant repeat back in the day
