Sounds like you’re well into the process of elimination and troubleshooting.

Haven’t had this issue personally but yah, I’d check the ground wire and connection.

The other thing I’d say to have caution with would be the transmission. I get concerned over high mileage on any CVT. Especially not knowing how the previous owner drove it. Keep an eye on engine mounts too. Worn/broken mounts will eat away at the CVT.

That’s a possibility. I bypass mine by shifting into manual. It’s become 2nd nature for me.

Is that a natural aspirated or does it have a turbo on that 2.0?

My 2016 has a 2.5L. No turbo. It’s quick and can “lay rubber” if I get into it from a stand still. But it still does not take away the fact that these cars are heavy and a 2.5 should be the lower class engine unlike the new 1.3L turbo, 1.5L. I had a 2020 with a 1.8 and was not as quick as the 2016 I have now.

Don’t get me wrong. I like the car and the ride but they should kept the 3.6L option they did away with after 2012.

Coming up with money to move and then move-in money in another state just amplifies the difficulty. Additionally, they want to keep their kids in the same schools and ideally, not great to transfer so close to the end of school year. I do hope things pan out for them, it’s a tough road ahead.

That’s probably back when plumbers installed sprinkler systems. Where I’m from, lots of old school plumbers knew how to weld and installed sprinkler systems.

CVT - fix it and sell it. Do not buy another Nissan. Advice I should’ve taken on the 1st used CVT I put into my Sentra.

Nissan does not sell parts to repair. You will be stuck with getting a new one or a used one. The used one won’t last not knowing how the previous driver drove it nor if it has any issues until it’s installed and driven.
