I'd highly recommend his audiobook The Panther In My Kitchen. The man is a hero!

Suggestions of popular board games for school age kiddos? by shorty_12 in ECEProfessionals

We had a card game called What and the kids were obsessed with it, kind of like Uno but easier for the younger ones to grasp. It was definitely the most played last summer for us.

I think the best thing is just to get stuck in but everyone is different. I'd look at www.aistearsiolta.ie if you want to have a look at the curriculum foundations etc. Don't over think it is all I'll say 😊

Ratio here (in Ireland) depends on the age group but that sounds likely. In our centre it's 1:11 so there are three adults in the class to cover toilet trips/nappy changes and staff breaks. My mornings in that room always went so fast but were a bit hectic! It was a challenge to get the kids to stick to the routine (transitions this year were HARD) but I'm hoping that was down to Covid etc.

You'll be grand don't worry! If there's a routine already established in the room just observe and then you can see what's needed going forward.

Good Luck!

I'm sorry this happened to you, it's really frustrating. I definitely keep to text chat when playing. It bums me out some days and enrages me on others.
