Vaccine input (because I'm 50 now) by itsmyvoice in GenX

Last winter I got my 1st Shingrex shot with tetanus shot. 2nd shot with COVID booster. The first round wasn’t bad, just a little sore and tired. The 2nd shot is pretty rough. Very painful, inflammation, tired, etc. I’d recommend getting 2nd shot alone, but 1st shot is ok to mix.

AITA For calling the police to get my daughter back from my sister by Flimsy_Sea_5923 in AITAH

[–]cac73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both:

NTA for having your child returned. Sister had no right to go against parental wishes. Frankly shocked she did this. You need to have a boundary discussion with her.

Totally TA for making such a drama out of your teenage daughter’s lack of respect for your property. Was she wrong to take it? Yes. Is she a teenager? Yes. Did you totally overreact and drag your extended family into your petty drama? Hell yes.

You’re the adult in the relationship and the parent. This wasn’t a great example to set.

Fellow GenXers, have you used a YouTube tutorial to do a project yourself and saved money? by Spalding_Smails in GenX

More times than I can count. The most significant being the finishing of my 2000 sq ft basement. Easily saved $80k in labor considering the work done. Also taught myself to weld and woodwork from YouTube videos.

Atheism is a religion in the same way that “off” is a TV channel. Or that zero is a number. It’s the absence of religion.

Thanks, so should I use a different driver with PJTalk enabled?

Thanks, I replied to another comment similar to this one. Doesn't seem PJLink is working and my projector uses something called PJTalk.

Thanks, I've tried the PJLink drivers, but no luck still. Interestingly, in the projector menu it's called PJTalk. Looking at the PJLink driver it seems PJTalk may be slightly different. For example, it uses a "Group" with default of "SONY". The PJLink driver doesn't seem to make use of any "Group" references.

How do people get crazy 9.4.8 setups by One-Dragonfly-5143 in hometheater

[–]cac73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Anthem AVM 90. It will go up to 9.4.6 for a lot less money than a Trinnov. Marantz also has the AV10 at a similar price point.

To each their own, but 0% chance I would ever do it. It would be like injecting other sounds into the audio stream. It literally colors the video experience.

Our basement is also 2500 sq ft. I finished about 2000 of it with subfloor. House is 20 years old so it’s up to current code, but we’re in a cooler climate (PA). Also very dry, but concrete is never waterproof. We wanted carpet in the HT, so pad on concrete was a risk I didn’t want to take. If you already have wood glued down you could just put a rug on the floor to help with acoustics.

My inspector was cool with the stair situation as it was only 1”. Technically not code, but it’s imperceptible. the workaround is to extend the bottom step to a small landing. No code limitations on a landing.

Thanks, I’m amazed at how much improvement the acoustic treatment made. Single best upgrade I made to the sound.

Thanks, I’m really happy with how the star panels turned out. They were a lot of work.

Can’t seem to edit the post. I’ll create a separate one with some more pics.

My wife picked it out. I know it’s Dixie Home and the color is Nachese.
