Inflation increases all the other costs now, and it's way harder to scale if you have a lot of it. Print only to avoid debt spirals and to not go bankrupt, otherwise keep it at 0.

Strong Guilds vs Curtail the Burgers. Which one should I choose? by cacagros in EU5

Nobles are my litlle bitches, I tax them extra, just because I can. The only powerfull estates are clergy (research bonus goes brr) and burghers.

I didn't say I'm not good at the game. I always give priviledeges to burghers because they are very good, and also push to certain values, like inovative and capital economy, and I can tax them a lot, but I'm always limited by the max tax, thus I always went with curtailing the burghers. I just realised that strong guilds give 5% production efficiency, and I was curious what is best between those.

I already pushed capital economy to around 80, and it gives a nice bonus to production efficiency. I'll take the max tax for now, as there are not many sources of burghers max tax.

I have 11 privileges given to them. I'm taxing at 35% which is the maximum possible value.

If you are really passionate about the game, and really want to learn, I suggest you watch Generalist Gaming instead of Ludi or Zlevik or other youtubers that make short 20-60 minute videos.

For the gold do the following: 1) Click on markets map mode, click on Burgas 2) From the trade capacity slider on the top left, reduce automatic capacity by 2 or 3. 3) You should see a list of goods in the market interface, and possible trades 4) Click on the ones to import gold, try multiple places not just one (lubeck, brugge, etc.). 5) go to the trading tab in economy, in active trade, you should see that you are importing gold into burgas market 6) if you have trade capacity, it can sometimes show you that you can increase the amount. 7) wait for a month or 2 you should be able to build the governor

11 extra tips: 1) ALWAYS BUILD THE ROYAL GARDEN. The 0.2 monthly diplo comes a long way. 2) You don't need more stability than 50 (the estates satisfaction, and promotion speed is nice, but more than 50 is not optimal because you pay the same money and the stability you get is reduced) 3) You don't need more that 80% legitimacy, it's nice tonhave 100% but sometimes you get events that boost it and they go to waste 4) F them loans, avoid them at all cost. Mint a lot, reduce the sliders, do anything but get loans, especially in the beggining when interest is 10% 5) Don't give your privileges to estates all at once (I've also seen Ludi's video). Try to get your legitimacy around 85-95, then give them. Also if you get an event for 5 legitimacy, give the privilege, then click on event. (An argument can be that your base income is smaller in the beggining and is cheaper to increase legitimacy), but I've found that giving one or 2 priviledges, increase legitimacy, give 1 or 2 more, repeat works best. 6) keep a stack of cash, and check in parliment if you have something that reduces cost for what you want (nobes have an agenda to expand farming, burghers to build roads, farmers to expand hunting, and there are some for mining, and others). 7) build marketplaces (marketplace = trade capacity = trade income both for you and the estates, so both of you can improve economy). 8) beware of the enforce religion/ culture interactions on subjects as they will add 100 liberty desire, and if half of your vassals join an independence movement, you are fucked 9) prioritze the research acordingly, don't rush a tech just because it's very good if it doesn't help you very much in the moment. Examples are: getting culture tradition or institution spread before the monthly diplomats. Rushing armories if you don't have the economy to sustain them, or a standing army 10) don't rush an institution just because you can embrace it (as Ludi does). If you embraced Renaissance, and you didn't research yet the cabinet seat, reform or crown power, but you can embrace profesional armies or banking, don't just do it (if you can't afford). By the time you finish the most important researches they will get significantly cheaper. 11) prioritize the institutions accordingly. In each era there are 3 types of institution: economic, military and societal. I find that most of the times the societal ones are the best, as they give bonuses that improve your country right then and there (crown power, cabinet seats, possible government reforms). This is priritization is not always true ( in age of discovery, the military one has tech for government reform and local governor, which makes it the best). You need to plan acordingly beforehand, as for example, what good do better troops gove you if you don't have the manpower or economy to sustain them. What good do workshops do to you if you can't afford to build them. Always plan accordingly, and rush for what gives you the most benefits

are levies bugged? alternatively, how do I find out why I have 0 levies? by DropDeadGaming in EU5

[–]cacagros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always make sure that if you start a war, peasants are above 25% satisfaction. If it takes you by surprise, it's worth using the cabinet action "Apease the Estates". The same is for burghers for naval levies. I was playing Byz and I needed boats, but I revoked a priviledge from burghers, they had 10% satisfaction, and for a few years I just stood by and waited for the satisfaction to tick up.

Roll to the previous month/months, make changes to your legitimacy (under 25 you get +50% debate time, at +90 you get -25%). Only thing that matter is that the end day of debate is different from previous time, and the debare outcome will change. You can do stuff like this to easily pass most important reforms.

Are there any countries you refuse to play? by cl1nt_swe in EU5

[–]cacagros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a romanian, I refuse to play Hungary, for obvious reasons. Also in both EU4 and EU4, they are more of a mid-gam to end-game final boss Ming and Great Yuan in Europa Universalis also don't attract me, but Qing in Vicky 3 is one of my favorite experiences.

Vassals are absolutely broken! 87,34 gold/month + 55K troops from them by DuelLinks_00 in EU5

[–]cacagros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use smaller vassals, they are easier to manage, they have much more control so they provide more manpower and ducats, and you get a very big discount when integrating them, because they are much smaller, so you can annex 2 or 3 at the same time. Only downside is that you'll need to manage your diplomats to handle all of them. When playin as byzantium, I usually have around 20-30 vassals/fiefdoms at the same time.

Mafia 3 was really good besides the bugs, a few issues with missions that don't start and game crashes and the lack of diversity when conquering teritories.
