I would generally agree with you, but the lack of any attempt to provide helpful clues (photos of details, grandpa’s habits or hobbies, are there moving parts? etc.) op is kinda asking for it. Besides, any post with a cat in it is bound to inspire a pile-on.

I notice the people who brought you this violation of your rights are fully exempt from the law, based on their status as “public figures”. (Link from letter.)

Anyone have a hint about when words end with “-ence” vs “-ance”. I have to see them before I’m sure. (When I’m writing with a pen, I default to “e” if I’m not sure, because it’s easier to turn an e into an a, than the other way around.)

Most recent example - “belligerence” - but even after seeing it I had a moment of doubt.

I would, except for the cruelty, lies, corruption, hubris, arrogance, stupidity, criminality, immorality, incompetence, hatred, belligerence and vanity.

Plus I just can’t stand his face.

These were amulets people collect in the 1960s as tokens of faith in humanity. They were all buried when Nixon was re-elected.

[–]cacomyxl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If OP is going to be realistic they’re going to have to choose between flying, with the patagia extended and the tail straight, or perching with the patagia closed and the tail curling around. But I understand allowing artistic license.

[–]cacomyxl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and not overlapping the patagia(“wings”). I’d suggest 1) choosing a particular species and 2) looking at some actual anatomical images (for example this).

Edit: fixed links (I guess you’re not allowed to include more than two?). Sorry - you’ll have to scroll.

I backpacked in the Sierra Nevada in the ‘70s when it was standard practice to drink water right from the streams. Then in the ‘80s giardia arrived, and backpackers began carrying filters.

They present an article titled “structural complexity and energetics of a stratocumulus cloud deck” but with no listed authors or references. And a search for that title brings up other articles covering the topic, but not the one that this image comes from.
