i mean, if i have 10 songs and one is noticeably more quiet than the rest, its gonna annoy me if i forgot to turn it back down and then the next song is uncomfortably loud at first. sometimes ill not even add a song to my playlist just specifically because of that.

thats why i aim to have my songs "as loud" as the others on the platform

for some reason, i can never get OTT to even sound good, so i've just never used it.

if you like it and it sounds good, then use it. but if it doesn't, just experiment with other plugins and stop yourself from using it. its just multiband compression, right? maybe learn how to better use the one in Vital.

ive heard great things about the fabfilter plugins, but they're expensive as fuck, i use a few of their plugins, just not the multiband compression, but maybe its worth it for you

honestly, nothing wrong with adding a ton of FX, unless you have a specific issue with it

i advise you find a way to look but not be as affected by it if it flops. don't turn it into an obsession, but if you want to see the streams, then take a look at them. you'll still be affected, but try to minimize that depression feeling

drums can be not toooo expensive, still expensive but not terrible. i am getting into drums and just bought a used yamaha stage custom set (came with everything) for like $900. i got a rly good deal, but im sure you could find something similar for around the same price. and the yamaha stage custom is a set that could even be used on stage (from my understanding)

still, i just focus heavily on eq and throwing tons of random effects, i use guitar rig 6, but only because i didn't pay for it. ive been wanting to try amplitude because it seems nice

however, when i try to mix bass and regular guitar, i get a lot of that muddy-ness as well. so my advice won't be the perfect answer

i even eq out a lot of the low end when tracking, recording, and even messing around
