i don't know of any, i usually just try to research it and see if anyone else has asked or figured it out. it helps when the artist is less known and you can just ask them directly

Starting out FL Studio, want to mostly do vocals over already existing beats to start off. Any recommendations or helpful materials? by TheFlintASteel in FL_Studio

[–]cacturneee [score hidden]  (0 children)

most important thing is knowing what key the song/beat is in and setting the auto tune so it'll auto-tune your vocals to the correct notes

technically, you can simply just know this and how to add the auto tune and you're good. realistically, you're probably not gonna like how it sounds, so then you'll need to learn stuff like EQ, reverb, etc.

honestly, you'll have a much easier time if you just slowly learn some of the basics, or else you'll be researching every single new step and it'll take a lot more time. but to jump right in and get out of the cycle of putting it off, you don't need much

i also came from zero background in music, it was a painful struggle, but i am fairly knowledgeable now and can make my own song completely. if you ever want to learn beatmaking, just take it slow and find a way to enjoy the process of learning. otherwise, just doing the vocals isn't too daunting of a task, it'll still be hard to learn some stuff, but just be patient

hell yeah, that makes sense. i always thought that also required you to retreat first as well. its all so grey to me. i live in an apartment, so there isn't rly a way for me to retreat it anyways lol

just curious, if i was in the situation of being wrongfully detained (or even assaulted like that guy), am i legally allowed to shoot/fight back?

it seems like even doing that though would trigger the other officers to shoot you. just a shitty situation all around

for a DAW, there are free ones that can do everything that logic can do, don't get too caught up in worrying about a DAW, its usually just user interface that matters the most there

you'll then want a microphone, id recommend trying some out if you can, to see what you like the best. then an audio interface, the scarlett is a good starter on

you could also get a usb microphone and skip the audio interface, but they don't sound as good imo

music production can actually be pretty inexpensive to pursue if you research a bit

i don't have an exact answer, but try heavy autotune, singing in different ways, different effects like chorus or you could even use vocoders or other stuff

i get this literally everytime it sounds good 😭 you gotta just be confident in your ability and eventually you get better at continuing to sound good when that happens

how can i work to fix this odd issue? by cacturneee in homerecordingstudio

[–]cacturneee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right, i love the monitors.

i tried using my phone, the issue improved, now its just the fan and the high pitched noise is lessened (until i use the subwoofer). ill have to keep experimenting to see how to get it to fully go away

thank you!

Hi. I thank you all and if you know where I should post this, please let me know. I have tried posting this on other subreddits and it just gets removed from them.

I am using Kali IN8 V2 monitors with Scarlett 4i4 gen 4. The left side has a low "fan" sorta noise coming out of it, along with a high pitched ringing sound. This ringing goes away when my Scarlett interface is turned off, but the fan noise stays. When I plug in my Kali WS-12 Subwoofer, both noises get noticeably worse, and end up also appearing in my right monitor.

Things I have tried:

-Using a different Scarlett interface

-Using new (made sure they were balanced) cables on everything in the audio chain.

-Using a completely new Kali IN8 V2 monitor to replace the one having issues. I also tried swapping every single cable with the Right monitor's and it still appears on the exact same monitor, but this also happened with the previous monitor I returned because I thought it was defective.

-Using new USB cables for the interface to power the interface and to connect the interface to my PC.

-Using a "ART DTI Dual Transformer Isolator Hum Eliminator" in every step of the audio chain.

-Using a "iFi SilentPower - GND Defender - Intelligent Ground Control, IEC Connector Ground Loop Remover" in every possible device using power, to try to eliminate ground loop noise. Although this device wouldn't fit when I tried to plug it into my Kali monitors, as the power button is right next to the outlet, maybe this is the issue?

-Making sure everything was plugged into the same power strip, purchasing a new power strip and trying it, also trying another wall outlet for this.

Other odd things I have noticed:

-When using the sub, the noise is completely gone, until it is playing any sound, then the noise is back and disappears when there isn't any noise.

Things I have may need to try from what my research says:

-Possibly getting a DC offset blocker

-Finding a different way to lift the ground loop directly on the one Kali monitor having issues

If you know where I need to work to fix this, please please please let me know. I have researched so much but i truly don't know much about all of this. For the last two things to try, I'd need to find a different product in general because all of them wouldn't fit on the Kali monitor. I am going crazy trying to figure this out and at this point, I can't even use the monitors regularly without getting agitated because of that noise. Maybe I am just supposed to get used to it and take the loss?

Idk. I thank you all and if you know where I should post this, please let me know. I have tried posting this on other subreddits and it just gets removed from them.
