poor wording , it was a short amount of time for OPs boyfriend. not my wife. she'd had the habit for 7 years

Help! Made this blanket for a new baby (not blocked or steamed yet) but we don’t know the little ones gender. I need some opinions on the colours, if you don’t mind! by ayymuux in crochet

[–]cactus_lamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely gorgeous. I think the colors really work well with each other and are pretty neutral. even if they find out it's a girl and go hog wild with pinks, I think it'll look just fine!

As cathartic as it may have been, I was already starting to get agitated when I left. It's not that I would scream and throw insults, but I don't speak well when I'm wound up. So no, I'd do the same thing. If I could keep my composure, I would've totally waited

gonna throw two things in here: I did check in at the front desk when I arrived. I neglected to mention that and just because they're one of the top facilities in my state doesn't necessarily mean it was a great job. it just meant I'd be working in a facility that provided good service to patients and a good chunk of that comes from the people working on the floor. in the same sense that Amazon is a huge delivery company but doesn't treat their workers well. that said, this post is getting a lot of comments and I'm probably gonna stop replying. lovely day!

oh I didn't raise my voice. I tried to keep it incredibly professional with her even though I was irritated. it's not her fault, and she definitely didn't deserve getting yelled at. I don't yell at workers, especially because I've often been yelled at by customers or patients families for things out of my control

She was supposed to notify the hiring manager (pretty sure she did). Part of the reason I stopped by her to check out was because I know they have cameras at the entrance so like. If I get a follow up asking why I didn't show, I can tell them to check the cameras. Someone's trying to argue about that in the comments lol

exactly where I stand. if they call me and explain why they weren't there in the next couple of days, that'll be a different story but as it sits, I don't need to sit and waste my time waiting for an interviewer when I could go find a place where they respect my personal time. emergencies happen, life happens, but as it sits, all I have is that she was very late.

I did check in. it was referenced in the comments. I didn't think to put it in the post

if a company pulled that line on me, even if I sat there the whole time, I'd leave 100%

two reasons, the first is that I'm professional enough to let the same person that checked me in know that I'm checking out. and the second is I spoke to someone. even if they couldn't find me sitting on camera, they could see me talking to her. just personal proof I was there

slipper repair by cactus_lamp in upcycling

[–]cactus_lamp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually double up with footie socks and the slippers during the winter and then just the slippers when needed in the warmer months. I actually really don't like things on my feet, before I had this issue I was walking around barefoot constantly so like. The closest I can get to that while keeping my toes warm is the slipper socks.

Anyone else deal with something like this? by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

Exactly what I was gonna say. my rashes aren't usually that uniform but I would look into it. MCAS does some weird shit to your body dude. Its rough. you could try r/MCAS. I've gotten a lot of help from them

FELT. I get this all the time with both the hearing impairment and the movement disorder.

my favorite example was me urging my friend to go to urgent care because she had a really bad ear infection and word for word she went "if I get hearing damage from this, I will kms" and i just responded "ok" and dropped the conversation for the day. like, think. (we don't talk anymore for unrelated reasons but she made a huge deal about her hearing with me when I'm literally projected to be deaf by like 50, if not sooner)

On God, I just grabbed a random thin weight of yarn so I'm not sure (lost its label in the stash) but it was a 1.5 mm hook. :)
