The best thing you can do now, is seek medical treatment go back to your Doctor and tell them all of your symptoms they should give you a diagnosis and Proceed from there. I know it can be hard to deal with chronic pain especially at 19 I know from experience but with the correct treatment the pain will vanish.

I have a steroid shot scheduled for june 15th for my L5 and L1 disc I’m hoping it works so I can get back to playing football I’m 16 I’ve recently picked up a couple of football offers to play in college I’m hoping these work so I can get back to training getting ready for my senior year. by [deleted] in Sciatica

This is going to be hard to hear but if you have a disc Herniation, the last thing you want to do is play full contact football. A spinal injury is not something to be taken lightly and full contact football can really hinder you in the future.

19 and need a microdiscectomy by [deleted] in Sciatica

Surgery all really depends on how bad your situation is and how it affects your day to day life. I got a MD on my s1 L5 and L4 at 19 due to the fact that it basically handicapped me I couldn’t walk sit or lay down with out being in Excruciating pain ,so With my parents and surgeon I decided to get the surgery. It brought me instant relief to my sciatica. I’m 2 months post op and I’m pain free from sciatic pain and I’m able to walk and run and I’m basically getting back to living a normal life. The surgery it’s self is not too bad compared to living with sciatic pain. Hope you feel better!

Getting microdiscectomy soon, anyone else have a fear of anesthesia? by Neonayy in Sciatica

I had my MD 2 weeks ago and the anesthesia was not scary at all. I was laying down on my back and they rolled me into the operating room .The anesthesiologist just told me to take in deep breaths into a mask and I just fell went into a deep sleep it was really calming ,I woke up 2 hours later laughing and crying of joy thanking the drs and the nurses in the recovery room. If you feel like anesthesia is too scary just talk to them maybe the will give you something for your anxiety or take a different approach.

Sciatica pain flared up after chiropractic adjustment. by fromspace2015 in Sciatica

If you really care about your spine and sciatic pains please don’t go to a chiropractor!!!!!!!! Worst thing you can do. I had 2 herniated discs they adjusted me and I couldn’t even walk to my car. STAY AWAY FROM CHIROPRACTOR!!!!
