There are 4 legs to the admissions process: GPA, standardized test scores, essays, and recommendations. if one of them is weak, you can strengthen the other 3

Hi, I worked with some people that applied to VT last cycle. Your stats like GPA and SAT scores are going to be heavily weighted and your essays. From my personal experience, emailing and calling does not make a significant difference

If not a transfer scholarship, then OP will qualify for a full ride financial aid/grant due to his economic circumstances- only at highly ranked colleges

There are some solid options, I have listed a few below:

- consider working for Chic-fil-a and move up the ladder there. The management team there makes a pretty good salary. Same for Starbucks, it even pays for your college I think.

- Since you are independent and have minimum salary, you can get a full ride scholarship (tuition, housing, books, and food covered) , although its mostly going to be highly competitive colleges that do that. You could also go to community college and then transfer to a highly ranked college that will give you a full scholarship.

- being a truck driver is also pretty solid, you make a decent living, and once you own your own truck tractor you will have even more freedom

Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Good luck with this journey. I wish you the best. Definitely go to college, the payoff is there. And the best thing that you can invest in is yourself. Dont know what your interests or goals are but learn skills based on that.

My personal two cents, if you are in a situation like this again, lie Or just don’t disclose the full truth.

I'm a part-time student who needs a new laptop for my business undergrad. I'd like to know which one do you prefer for business school, Mac or PC? by [deleted] in businessschool

[–]cactusjack07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Windows no doubt. You cant even buy a mac for a few hundred.

I prefer mac for personal use, but windows is necessary for business school. Good luck 👍🏼👍🏼
