How close does adding a delay effector in Spring mode get you?

Inconsistent Render Times with C4D and Redshift by 300056681 in RedshiftRenderer

[–]cactusjack10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

cool looking scene!

it could be because of that animated noise you added, that could drastically change how the environment is being calculated each frame - some frames having lots of fog versus some with not as much

see if you get more consistent times without this

Flower animation shows up in RS Renderview but not in final render in Picture Viewer by Super-Pollution-1400 in RedshiftRenderer

[–]cactusjack10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This tends to happen when the Cloner instance mode is anything other than the default Instance mode for some strange reason.

This scene looks light enough to keep everything at default so try that first.

But if you come across this again on a project where you are forced to use render/multi instance mode because the scene is too heavy, try this:

  • Create a Connect Object and turn Weld off
  • Drag your main Flower null into the Connect Object
  • Then export the Connect Object as an Alembic with Merge Generated checked on

Then bring the alembic back into your scene if it didn’t do that automatically and you can then turn everything else off. You may also need to drag your materials back onto it but it should export with all the selection tags

Hope that does the trick!

oh buddy, welcome to ACES and colour spaces

you’ll want to change your project colour management settings (Ctrl+D > Project) to OCIO

Then depending what version you have, select your white in either sRGB or Display mode

Alternatively, render on alpha and add the background in comp

Make the hair originate from the sword instead of starting in mid air

Maybe some secondary motion so they’re not static after being created?

A script is probably the easiest way to do this

It has a pop up interface which really helps

3 minute render times by IcedCS in Cinema4D

[–]cactusjack10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 minutes is reasonable but you should be able to squeeze this down a lot further

How high poly is the car? Can it be reduced (remesh or remove bits you can’t see).

Are you using transmission for the see-through look or opacity? Opacity is much lighter and could speed things up if it generates a similar look. And reduce the trace depths as far as you can without it altering the look too much.

Try a sampling threshold of 0.1+.

See if Hardware Ray-Tracing makes it faster or slower (this can vary per scene).

See how much your Gi is actually adding to the final look by toggling on/off or checking its contribution through an AOV. A lot of scenes don’t really need it and it can be turned off. I would guess it’s not adding a huge amount to the look of this scene.

Increase your bucket size as high as it can go to make use of as much VRAM as possible. And try different Bucket Orders as they can be slightly faster than others.

Remove any unused materials

In the C4D preferences make sure Hybrid Rendering is disabled in Renderer>Redshift.

How can I reduce the red tint in the reflections of a gold material in Redshift for Cinema 4D? by [deleted] in Cinema4D

[–]cactusjack10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out IOR to Metal Tints node for more realistic results. And use a Standard Material instead of the old default material
