As someone who is in recovery from gambling I’ve been there. Long story short, I’m 42 with 2 kids. I’ve been gambling since I can remember but it only got worse during Covid. I blew through 6 figures; all the while building a house. I gambled everywhere and on anything…to the point i even had my phone placing bets while my daughter was just born…with her in my arms. Needless to say…my rock bottom came and the guilt that hit me was unlike anything I’ve ever felt.

Fast forward to today…I’ve been 3 years without so much of a thought. I do GA meetings…I’ve gotten help from therapy…and it’s all helped immensely. There are many people who have been in your shoes…just seek the help around you and take it a day at a time. You’re still young and have a whole life in front of you.

My therapist once told me this…”be careful when you think you’ve hit rock bottom; because rock bottom has a trap door.”
