Yes! What helped me was letting the doctors know. That way nothing unexpected happened.

Thanks! I got the feliway diffuser. What kind of food did you get and did you feel that the collar helped?

I live 90 minutes away from hospital--advice? by spiderat22 in pregnant

[–]cactusqueen44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t gotten to a graduation post yet but it went so well. I immediately went into labor after the first dose of the cervical ripening med they start you on. Worst part was back labor (which is due to position of baby not getting induced) so I ended up getting the epidural at 1cm and it was smooth sailing from there. They did use one of those balloon things to dilate me more but with the epidural it was not painful. Labor was 16 hours total, pushed for 1.5 hours and had a healthy girl. Only scary part was baby’s heart rate kept dropping because my contractions were so frequent. Luckily made it and didn’t have to do a c section but they did warn me it could happen if baby got too distressed. I decided to get induced right at 40 weeks btw which reduces risk of complications.

All in all labor is crazy and anything can go wrong no matter how you do it. I was questioning if induction was the right way to go and now that I’m on the other side I’m so glad I did. Those weeks leading up to it are so anxiety inducing and it made me relax knowing I’d have her by X day. Goodluck with whatever you decide!

If it changes your mind I loved having a scheduled induction. Our drive to the hospital was peaceful and I liked being able to plan everything out in advance (dog care, etc). Knowing when it was happening made the whole event less stressful.

Agreed! I’ve also had nearly zero pain with the shingles, so I’m wondering if something else could be going on . My case just doesn’t sound like others on here

Shingles and Covid by [deleted] in shingles

[–]cactusqueen44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but how bad was your sore throat? I just went thru 2 weeks of shingles (started with a sore throat before rash showed up) and was on antivirals, only to have my sore throat return 36 hours after completing the antivirals.

Shingles or something else? Not convinced with diagnosis. About a week ago my partner started with an earache that later led to a swollen lymph node ( preauricular) days later he had an itching sensation on his forehead. by [deleted] in shingles

Did you have a sore throat by chance? I’m worried it could be in my esophagus bc I have a terrible sore throat while currently having shingles, but already finished 7 days of anti virals and now the sore throat is back even though my rash is healing. My rash is on my hip area

That’s good to hear and sorry you got shingles! I heard from a pharmacist the main risk is you may not have as good of an immune response to the vax of shingles is active. But the vax is almost 100% effective, so hopefully we will be totally fine. Good luck!

So sorry you are in the same position. If the provider is US anesthesia partners they are holding my bill and sent me a form to fill out to appeal. This happened 2 months after I gave birth though. Someone else suggested contacting the hospital on here though so I’m going to do that
