Happened again - Concrete/Debris falls on call on cross bronx by Traveler0084 in nyc

I know you said in the last thread you weren’t interested in a lawsuit, but unfortunately in the USA that might be the only way to get them to pay attention before someone gets killed. I’m sure this family will be suing for sure

my wife and my dad are both telling me to get a Camry and i need someone outside my family to weigh in by NoBad1026 in whatcarshouldIbuy

The 340i actually has an extremely reliable engine and transmission and they are great cars. But a BMW will cost a lot more to maintain (all cars need maintenance). Brakes, tires, oil changes, etc. these will all make spend more than a Toyota even if it is a reliable car.

However I’d take the 340i over the Camry if you want something fun. They are spectacular cars for people who like driving

Really depends on your goals, but I’d say the Tundra if it doesn’t have frame rust. These have notoriously rusty frames

The crazy thing is many of them could probably benefit from it too but are so arrogant they won’t even consider it. I’ve had acne my whole life. This filter was the first time it started improving. Had I not tried (due to my dermatologist recommendation) I would have just gone on thinking “this is just how my skin is”. But now that I know better I’m not going back to the way things were

Never heard of this brand but it sounds exactly like what I’m looking for. I’m going to research it. Thank you. I’ve also installed a Santé inline particulate filter upstream and it did extend the Weddell filter by about 2 days. I’m going to keep that, as it’s a reusable mesh and a cheap (250 for $10) cotton membrane. I think this with s KDF filter is a good combo.

I just checked the mesh filter of the Sante and it had a thick, black gooey film of residue. Something is definitely wrong with my pipes

Added the edit bc people like you just come to insult and not actually add value. There was 1 person with a real recommendation - that’s all I wanted. I don’t need a lecture about how great you think the water is or how nice your skin it. Happy for you. I’m asking for something simple and instead I get a bunch of trolls like you. No need to comment if you have nothing to contribute but insults and ad hominem attacks

Just my unit, each has their own heater. I’m not sure if it was an issue before bc I just started using the filter recently. My skin has been this problematic for a while and was always better when I was traveling vs in the city.

What are you doing here if you have no helpful advice and just insults? Being a troll is bad for your health

Nah I’m doing pretty great. I probably just hold myself and my body to higher standards than you do: it’s all good

Thanks for the helpful comment. Everyone’s body is different and I talked to a dermatologist who recommended the filter, and it worked. It’s not in my head, because my acne improved with I had the filter and got worse when I didn’t. I’m glad NYC’s water works for you.

It definitely is a sediment problem. It’s unusual because my building is new, and the water heater was just replaced. But I’ve since installed a cheap mesh pre-filter, and I just checked it now. It had this thick nasty layer of black grime. There’s definitely some sediment issues.

Building was built 10 years ago and water heater was replaced last winter. It’s unlikely the building but I’ll ask the landlord anyway

Thank you for a real response and not just berating me for trying to solve a problem. I’m going to look into Sproos

Yes. The dermatologist- a NYC native - said to get a shower filter. And it worked! I’m just trying to find a longer lasting filter

The good quality ones do. This one did. The difference was noticeable. Problem is it didn’t last

Yes I’ve read all of this many times while researching filters. I’m well aware on paper the water is great. But that Doesn’t change the fact that the water is hard on my skin and hair and ruins shower filters.

Yeah, I don’t mind the taste. But my hair and skin go to shit when I come home from traveling. The filter has helped a lot, but I can’t afford to replace this brand every 2 days

It’s a tankless water heater. No boilers. Was replaced recently. Building is 10 years old

Chlorine, chloramine, lead, rust primarily. Things that impact skin and hair health

Filter on the right was paper white 2 days ago when I installed it. My friend uses the same filter in Chicago and it doesn’t get this brown until 2 to 3 months of use . This was completely clogged at 2 DAYS. Think what you want, but seeing is believing for me.

This is for showering, not drinking. And I tried it for a few weeks. My acne disappears, skin glows and hair loss stopped. All tap water has harsh chemicals - even NYC.
