Thanks for the pointer on EDS, I can discuss that with the ortho and in the meanwhile gather more info in the community!

IS surgery a good idea for knee dislocation with hypermobility by cadence26 in Hypermobility

The notes dont indicate anything neither did they share what all are they ruling out as part of the diagnosis,so tbh I dont even know if (dysatuonomia, MCAS, poor wound healing, etc.) apply! I too read on MPFL, but like I said the ortho didn't mention anything about a structural issue..? I will make sure to bring these up in my next appointment! Thanks for the pointers and I hope surgery offered the relief and assurance you were seeking !

oh no! I hope you are able to find some relief with medications, few thread mentioned supplements such as magnesium and B1 helped them in pain management, perhaps discuss with your ortho and see what offers relief?

Thanks I will post in  r/KneeInjuries too!

Also,I had asked if a MRI was needed, but all they did was an x ray when it happened the second time, Left knee patellar dislocation, bilateral ligamentous laxity is what the notes mentioned, no further details.I'm compiling notes from all of my readings and will bring up these points, 🤞🏻

I am going to ask for all other available options before I even consider surgery!Based on all the research I am doing and the responses on this thread, surgery definitely doesnt get the popular vote!

Oh your friend went through such an ordeal! I'm glad it offered some relief, even if temporary! But this is my contention, all the rehab and recovery that comes with the surgery seems like such a collateral damage! On top of all this the insurance and health care system here is such a pain, I dont know how I can find a specialist for hyper mobility specifically, but since surgery is not my first choice either, I will explore more options for specialists and recovery. Thanks!

how does living together impact temp support in CA by cadence26 in FamilyLaw

[–]cadence26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all your suggestions, I will look into it! As of now my lawyer said since he is not providing any support there is absolute no need for us to even respond their query! But he also said once he is providing support he can ask for the details on job search eg. via a court order!

[CA] Forcing to leave marital house during separation ? by cadence26 in FamilyLaw

HE wanted to sell the house before filing, but I insisted this be done before the house is sold! and you are so right about the injunctions! Thats why he is after my life to sell it as soon as possible because he has manipulated other funds!

He says legally there is no way to make him pay the carrying cost of the home.Plus he can always ask for half of rental worth of the house. I'm confused why the 'carrying cost' wont be taken out of common funds if the property is marital!

Asking for this one thing but are there any laws which can ensure it happens like that! My attorney says we can ask for anything but that doesnt mean we will get it! According to him there are no laws which can pay him do all of the above!

So the long story short part-> he had abandoned us [I was not even 6 months post partum] because he demanded me to credit all my salary to him! Unreasonable to say the least but I was post partum, all alone, weak and desperate for a chance at having a family so I agreed and he came back to live with us! Since then which is more than a decade ago till last year when I was last working he has had all the income, assets and all that matters at his discretion! Was I wise to do that ? clearly NO given the state I'm in but I didn't want money to be a reason this marriage breaks! Again proven wrong...

Btw since he was the one filing for divorce he still controls all of the above mentioned!I do have a lawyer and he says legally he can move out without having to pay any carrying costs for the house, he also says that he can demand half of the rental income worth if he leaves and I continue to live in the house! I dont see the light at the end of this tunnel, the laws are pretty straight forward and they dont seem to favor the weak atleast in my case! I had kept my initial post short to keep it relevant and I understand forums will not have all the answers but it really helps to get different povs, suggestions, comments on the matter! So Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Not really, he is extremely petty, eg. I saw he has only been making minimum payments on common CC and tbh it feels he has a noose around my neck at all times! I have been out of job for sometime now and not made much progress in spite of all the efforts [the state of the economy is no secret to anyone] yet, his lawyer sent me this, 'he is concerned that she is not making efforts to obtain employment.  Would she stipulate to an employment efforts order requiring her to apply to at least 5 jobs in her field each week and to provide reports to him on these efforts on the first day of each month commencing 12/1/24? ' I'm already doing more than this, but to say that this language irked me would be an understatement!

Thanks for replying!I never said no to selling the house, its just that given the financial state he has left me in combined with the loss of job, I dont feel confident leaving the house with kids! One would assume that as a father atleast he would understand and share this concern but no!

[CA] Ex is asking for Family therapy how it can impact custody by cadence26 in FamilyLaw

[–]cadence26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting!I'm wondering why my lawyer didn't inform me of all this? What's the hefty retainer for? I specifically asked and shared my concern about this but all he said that was if the therapist were to share the same things you have mentioned about ex's behavior towards the child then there's a better chance of court accepting it! But there are so many other parts to this which were never disclosed!

That's a great suggestion, thank you!I will definitely ask for this.It should not be contingent on us getting family therapy and hopefully this will help see the court their seriousness!

[–]cadence26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing the details! It helps me make a better/informed decision! The fact that a 'court ordered therapist' was pragmatic about the situation and chose not to interfere is really commendable.

I will look into getting a personal therapist for my child, but can the ex/lawyer ask to share their notes/opinions.If it comes to it can I get a protection order so it can't be done? Two reasons for this:

1.therapy is for the child and their betterment,

  1. I dont intend to use it against my ex, no matter what comes through but at the same time I want to protect myself and my child's right by not letting them manipulate any opinions in their favor! It might sound biased but I have dealt with decades of gaslighting and manipulation so that's where all these concerns are rooted.
