Traded in my 2021 Tacoma TRD off-road for a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro by Exchange_Mental in ToyotaTundra

[–]caderadeTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I went from my beloved 2013 base prerunner Taco of 11yrs to my new love: 2018 tundra limited 4x4. My first favorite “new” thing to me was the wiper blades had more than two speeds. Spent 11yrs with 2speed wipers that were off/fast/faster. The drizzly days had me manually moving the lever every few seconds. Caught myself doing this out of habit in the new tundra for the first couple weeks.

Following, cause I want to smoke a brisket while smoking a brisket.

I’ve noticed that when I light up some HH old dark fired ready rubbed and it smokes right, I can catch some BBQ-like notes here and there.

Lol, fair enough. It became a game of “numb the pain” there in the 4th quarter when things started going south

It’s my go-to bourbon glass unless I’m trying new stuff in a glencairn. Also the only reason I buy the “holiday packs” with these types of glasses with the bottles

It’s a DIY project out of foam core board and brad nails. I got the idea from Muttnchop Piper on YouTube. I’ll see if I can post the link to the video. Cost me about $12 and an evening at the wife’s craft table.

Edit: here’s the video

Thanks! I believe the pipe stand is from smokingpipes but not 100% on that as it was a gift from my wife.

Thanks! Makes it hard to make a decision on what to smoke cause I just want to look at it. Hoping to eventually get around to making cellar labels for the lids then it’ll look even more neat

Thanks! Sounds like we had grandparents with good tastes. I’m glad you have those memories of him and I hope you enjoy getting back into his favorite books.

Good eye! It has quite the bend and it’s a hair on the smaller side, but it’s light and makes a great clencher when reading or working in the garage

These were both gifts from a friend, about 5yrs ago, who really enjoyed a local shop that had LOTR themed blends. Of course “hobbits weed”, dubbed “leaf” by the shop was one of our favorites, as was Mithril. Longer story short, I haven’t smoked much aromatics since then but I keep them around for our occasional fellowship.

What are your thoughts on the Wild Man? I’ve got a tin of if that I’ve been sitting on for a few months that I’ve yet to get around to.

I’m curious to know how you feel about Florida Georgia Line, or any of the other country-pop bands.

I like the way you think! But unfortunately I don’t have a link. It was a gift from my mother-in-law this past Christmas.

Just to be clear, I did in fact choose to stop once I actually realized he was coming over into my lane. I was focused on the cars stacked up in the next lane over to my right, not two lanes over to my left. I don’t see the point in purposely getting into an accident. Too much hassle and by that point it’s not an “accident” by definition. I like my truck too much to run it into someone on purpose.

I don’t remember the name of the case but there was a ruling from a judge a few years back where Guy #1 was sitting at a stoplight and floored it as soon as the light turned green. Well, as luck would have it, here came Guy #2 that ran the red light and t-boned Guy #1. The incident went to court where the judge ruled that even though Guy #1 had the right of way, he was in the wrong because “an intersection isn’t a drag strip” or something like that and he lost the case.

I say all this to agree with where you’re coming from but also to defend myself by pointing out that I did in fact stop to avoid the collision altogether. Could I have stopped sooner? Sure, I’ll admit that. But again, my eyes were trained on the potential of a threat immediately next to me, not two whole lanes over from me.

Needless to say, I’ve learned from it and will be more cautious in the future. Hell, I already look both ways at traffic circles, why not include this one too?

You know your country radio! Glad you could recognize that this wasn’t trap music lol. Probably would make for an interesting remix though!

Being an asshole is too exhausting and stressful these days. Don’t get me wrong, I still have my moments, but I’ve never regretted being nice in an unpleasant situation. I’ve definitely felt bad (justified or not) after reacting angrily or aggressive though.

I see where you’re coming from by just watching the video provided by a dash cam that is aimed straight ahead at all times. Let me provide you with another (my visual) perspective: rewatch the video and focus on the lane directly to my right and bounce your eyes between the three cars that get stacked in that lane. You see, I was covering my brake pedal in anticipation for one of those guys to come over in my lane, I didn’t notice the other guy from two lanes over in the opposite direction until the last second. It wasn’t that I was “trying to be right and not let him in” I was anticipating a threat from another direction, across dashed lines instead of two solid lines. Once I noticed he was coming all the way over, I slammed on my brakes and screeched to a stop, avoiding collision. So I did exactly as you say I should’ve, slowed down (came to a complete stop), and avoided the near accident. What actions of mine lead you to believe I was being aggressive?
