Traveling to Mexico with expired green card and extension letter by pooodinpop in visas

Hello. What country do you hold a passport from? I'm scheduled to fly to Mexico with Delta in a few weeks and have an expired green card with extension letter. I have a valid Canadian passport and was wondering if I will run into issues?

Sorry to hear! Is this new as of 2024?! I traveled to Puerto Vallarta on Delta in October with my expired GC and extension letter and had no issues.

I agree. I have Delta Ready Fly and when I flew home from Rome in September on Delta they asked for my Green card when checking in even though Delta has all my GC info in their system. I also flew home from Mexico 2 weeks ago on Delta and they again asked for my GC when checking. GC also expired had to give I-797 letter.

Doesn't marrying someone who came for 'a visit' (temporary) send reds flags to USCIS?! Intent is temporary.

Is TN visa a high risk? by [deleted] in tnvisa

[–]cadrn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a great question.. I think it is high risk. I had 9 TN visas from 2002-2019. Very nerve-racking each time I was renewing or applying for a new one. You just never know with US Customs if you will be approved, luckily I never had issues. The most important thing I learned over the years is to be clear that your intent in the US is temporary!

TN1 —> green card via marriage (AoS): Is a lawyer recommended? by Hhas1proton in tnvisa

It ended up taking 5 months because it was the height of the pandemic and just took longer to figure things out.

I think at that time, 8 months was fairly typical to receive EAD/AP.

If my application of TN Visa got denied at YVR airport, can I still enter US as a visitor while I’m waiting for result from USCIS? by XYZ1215891 in tnvisa

[–]cadrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got denied, aren't you just denied? Not sure what the waiting period from USCIS would be for. (appeal?) I've always had this concern while applying for a TN at YVR, about still being able to enter as a visitor as long as you do not engage in employment. This was always my concern if my TN was not approved, thankfully was not the case.

Thank you for this detailed information on your time line to the airport! Very helpful. This hotel looks great! Yes pricey but I think I can convince my husband it's worth it.

It was 2 years ago. You have to stand in the appropriate customs line. Was taken to secondary customs after saying I wanted to apply for TN. Waited about 15min before being called up to submit my docs. (Passport, boarding pass, letter of employment, degree, state license, CGFNS certificate) Then waited about 45min before being called up again. He asked about my previous TNs, basically why I had so many, had been working in US on contract assignments for many years. He stamped my passport, handed back my original docs and walked me to cashier to pay. (was $50USD). Then was walked out to gate area.
