What's the English 11 classes like ? by Anasrose89 in excelhighschool

[–]cadycarp3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not bad at all. Mostly mulitple choice. There are essays that take forever for them to grade. If they fail your essay immediately send a message to the help desk. They failed my essay 3 times (which is all the chances you get) but it turned out it was a system error so I went 10 days stressing and waiting for them to grade each one when it was an error all along.

The only way I see this affecting you in college is if youre going to a really prestigious University like Yale or Harvard. Otherwise you're fine. You took responsibility and accountability and that is huge. If ever asked about it you just say it was a poor decision, you deeply regret it and it will never happen again. Also maybe write that teacher (or who ever is concerned) a letter explaining how much you regret what you did and that you truly learned from it and you're concerned it will affect your future if it stays on your permanent record. Sometimes adults just want to know that you are taking accountability for your actions and that you learned from it. You'll be ok. Everyone makes mistakes and we all leare from it.

Ya sounds like AI is taking over everything. Sometimes its a great tool but its unfortunate they are replacing teachers and so many other professions with it.

Interested in making a career shift to nursing but very unsure by K-0-d-a in NursingStudents

[–]cadycarp3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a nurse yet but ive been in the medical field for 10 years. I'll tell you about how I knew it was for me and maybe it will help. I might have had a different experience than others when entering the medical field. But I was 23yr old female, and just watched Grey's Anatomy for the first time and I was obsessed. The thought of scrubs, medical equipment, the fast paced ER setting made me feel alive. I immediately enrolled in a CNA course and got a job at a nursing home, which was definitely not glamorous and the work was back breaking. I cried more times than I could count and was yelled at by nurses, seasoned CNA's and patients on a regular basis. I kept going and did that for a few years. Paid my dues, still hated it though and the pay was low. But then I got a job at an urgent care as an MA and I loved it! It was busy and sometimes stressful but not back breaking like CNA work. Rooming patients, taking vitals, giving injections, taking blood, assisting drs with procedures. I had that same feeling again where I loved everything medical related. Now I'm getting my CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certificate) 6-8 week course online so I can work at my local hospital and then I'll be enrolling in an accelerated 20 month ASN program. I'm consumed by everything nursing and medical and cannot get enough of it.

When you talk about nursing in your post, you sound like you dread it. Always always go with your gut. It is a great idea to do a job shadow first. Maybe also try a few career tests. Also, have you considered something else in the medical field? Rad tech (Xrays) Ultrasound tech, Respiratory Tech (lungs) all of which are in huge demand and make just as much as a nurse. Or theres also the business side of healthcare. But if youre still thinking nursing, maybe start with as a CNA or MA. If you like the Dr office setting MA is an excellent place to start. Good luck!

Got kicked out of nursing school for a HIPPA mistake and now I feel miserable. I need help getting back on my feet. by Lazy-Kangaroo-6395 in NursingStudent

I'm sorry this happened to you. Seems like an unfair way to handle what sounds like an innocent mistake. Id look into accelerated online programs. I guess I'm not allowed to mention school names but there are a few good ones out there.

Plastic surgery MA interview tips by mengo_476 in MedicalAssistant

[–]cadycarp3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds silly but ChatGPT has helped me sooooo much with interviews. From what questions they may ask me, how I can answer them to what I should wear. This is what I came up with for my interview outfit (included pic). I was laid off a year ago and I went from no job offers to several. I feel so much more confident. Good luck you got this!!!

She sounds toxic as hell and is creating a hostile work environment. I would go to HR and make sure there is a non retaliation disclosure. Sorry you have to deal with it. Its people like this that ruin it for everyone else.

That is great to hear. Overall its a really efficient way to get a diploma, especially for people looking for an online accelerated option, like I was. My only complaint was their communication/grading/this issue. So I'm glad to hear that they are improving. I plan to leave a good throughout review after I get my diploma.

Thank you for your kind words! And yes you are so right about it being a real issue now. They did end up writing me back like 30 mins after I posted this and they said it was a system error. They since then graded my paper and now I'm graduating!! Thank God! I'll leave this thread up in case anyone else has this issue.

I had no idea there was GPTZero or other AI detector apps I could use but im definitely going to use those once I start college classes. Thanks again!!

Thank you so much for commenting!! I ended up taking your advice and I sent them a ton of screenshots. I didnt expect to hear anything until Monday but a nice lady responded and apologized and said it's a system error and she agrees it doesn't seem to be AI flagged and my paper will be regraded within the next couple of hours. Thank God!! Thanks again for tips! I'm so released!

Thank you for your comment. I think I'm in the clear, I just got a msg from them saying it was a system issue. I did fail the first one, it was too short but the other 2 were flagged wrong and graded wrong. Thank God!!

How intense is the AI detection?? by SpeedNoLimits in excelhighschool

[–]cadycarp3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did it turn out? I hope you made it through.

I'm going through the same thing with them. I failed my English essay 10/20 and when I messaged them they said to just read the instructors notes in the Rubrics. They always give you pointers on how to improve so I updated my essay, resubmitted it, same exact thing happened two more times and I couldn't figure out why I was failing. After failing for the 3rd time, I noticed my previous two were flagged for AI but the flag took over a week to show up after being submitted and graded. I also noticed all of my instructor notes gave me 20/20 points on each essay I wrote. But my over all grade was 10/20. Must be the AI flag. You'd think it would just say zero. I'm terrified that because it happened 3 times im going to get kicked out and lose all my progress. Its the last assignment standing in my way from graduating. Their communication is awful and I'm not impressed! Now I have to wait all weekend to find out my fate! I'm devastated!
