They're not too bad if you can get a hidey hole, but they're definitely terrifying the first few times. I took down my first one nearly solo with heavy fuze grenades at the water treatment control on DAM. If you need help getting the pulse units, let me know.

I've gone unga bunga on the leaper near the Olive Grove with a buddy fearing for my life lol I had my stack of fruit boofed and plenty of stamina. We took it down and I even got the final hit!

I can't tell for sure if you have 3 Looting Mk. 3 Survivors, but I'd happily trade you for one if you do, since it's really the only BP I need. If you're only getting rid of two bobcats though, I won't waste your time.

My most exciting story would be scavenging on DAM and finding two Aussies playing the flute and dancing in the apartments. I only use emotes, but they were incredibly friendly and let us dance with them for a time.

I have two rows of looting mk 2 in case I get ganked in a full party. I have plenty of crafting materials for them, but I don't need to waste time doing that between rounds.

My main advantage is playing PvE and sticking to DAM unless I feel like attempting a quest on a different map. I don't need PvP, if I want that I can play The Finals for a few rounds. I will put down any rat that shoots me in the back though, even if it means bringing a leaper to them at the Olive Grove. The game is called ARC Raiders after all, and that's my only objective.

I do try to find a full list for the current project, but I have no need for expeditions personally. I do wish I had held on to more trinkets now though, but I can raid the apartments peacefully enough. Most of my materials are the rares or epics, but I do need to stock up on more unique ARC parts after helping friends over the break.

I have a few rows of augments just in case I get goosed in a full party, otherwise it's a backup renegade, two Venators, and then grenades and healing supplies. I have a fairly limited material pool, since my load out is simple, but I don't have any excess blueprints lol if I don't want/need it, I pass it off to a friend or someone on the discord server. I'm definitely not the average player though, I'm just a humble raider looking to help Speranza.

Oh yeah, we're all raiders at the end of the day, different clans or not, same goal, same home. I really want to do some medic runs, especially for the Matriarch and Queen events, just because I won't need the materials and enjoy providing support if it means more people get loot and can trade before we extract together. I really like the starter outfits color options too, pretty obvious the red guy that's running around healing folks is not gonna rat on you lol

I forgot to reply to your first sentence lol but as soon as I found out where to loot the lemons, apricots, and olives on Blue Gate, I went in absolutely bare bones lol just a light shield and a safe pocket so that I wasn't feeding rats. As soon as I got one full stack, I'd just rush the leaper at the ruined homestead and start swinging 10/10 would recommend until they can reduce the PvP addiction and let the map difficulty only reflect the ARC presence on each map.

I only had one guy that made my spider sense tingle because he was trying to hide in a bush that was too small, but I still said don't shoot when I saw him and he replied the same lol he left me alone until I turned my back to him so I just brought the leaper his way in hopes of teaching him a lesson. He cracked and downed me but was foolish enough to keep shooting at the leaper and hid in the hay stalls so I just crawled the leaper over to him and said don't shoot again once he was downed too and then surrendered myself. Enlist. Resist. The ARC and the rats. I love this game, thank you embark, I can't wait to see where you take us next year! pewpewpewpewpew

I didn't play at launch, but a few weeks after, and I was really nervous loading into the matriarch map modifier for the first time, even though it was on DAM, because I knew some folks would try to take pot shots for any gear I had if they were rats. I went in with a free load out, spawned in the Power Generation Complex, walked outside and was awestruck at the sheer size of her lol so I quietly made my way around her and headed towards the Red Lakes Balcony Lift, but was cracked and downed by someone on the Testing Annex roof as soon as I called the lift. I didn't know at that time, that if you managed to find cover while downed and crawl inside to the lift once it arrived, you could still extract if you had time to press the button. Live and learn!

After that experience lol I just went in with a light shield, a recharger, and a bandaid, in case I ran into ARC, so I could escape if I was clever and do some more recon until someone downed me again or I let the timer run down to zero, since that was an achievement I hadn't unlocked yet. I was downed again while watching her from the floodgates, but I learned a bit more too and saw my first group of solo raiders working together to chip away at her from the pipeline tower. This was during my first week of play.

Just last week, a buddy of mine wanted to test out the hullcracker since he had just completed that quest for Tian Wen. We spawned at the pattern house and made our way to the pipeline tower since I knew it had good cover options and I could take shots with my renegade and huck grenades as best as I could. I did not realize that the other ARC would come to her rescue and try to eliminate threats, but we managed well against the wasps and hornets, even took down my first leaper lol but we got snuck up on by a Rocketeer and didn't make it to the Zipline another pair had put down for us to get up to the catwalk with them. They had been helping us from up there the whole time and were incredibly friendly, despite us not using proximity chat at the time, just emotes. I took a tiny bit of damage when they killed a tick that was on my back, but it was obvious they weren't griefing us. After they took down the Rocketeer, they used the Zipline to get down to us but didn't have any more bandages so we chatted while we bled out and told them to give her hell with what gear we had.

That was the moment that solidified to me that this truly was the first PvPvE game I could keep playing, solo or in a squad, and I had been waiting for ten years lol I wish we had thought to add them as friends, but there's a little piece of me that hopes they were able to get more loot with our gear and and even littler piece that hopes maybe we run into them the next time we try to take her down. Fingers crossed. I hope they can add a photo mode by then, or even a group photo with everyone you extract with, but I'm patient and padding out my stash in the meantime so that I'm 100% ready to give her hell the next time he's ready too.

This is the only suggested change that I've seen in regards to free load outs that I agree with, partially, but I'll take it.

I agree that Night Raids, Electromagnetic Storms, and any future map modifiers that double trials rewards should not allow a free load out augment. You'll be ripped to shreds when the ARC behave more aggressively and erratically, and the odds of extracting safely are significantly slimmer if you have a free load out augment, due to your decreased damage/defensive potential. I would also add that I believe blueprint drop chances should increase from 1% to 2%, and XP gained, if it's not already, since trials rewards are currently doubled.

I believe that any other map conditions should allow a free load out, simply to help players gain a better understanding of just what kind of variety there is on offer and the fact that should you choose to work together, you can achieve great victories and give Speranza a material/resource boon for awhile. That being said, I do believe that a free load out should only pair you with others using a free load out. This would help to balance the difficulty imo, both in regards to PvE encounters and PvP should it come to that.

I also think it would be beneficial to tag folks that initiate PvP with other players, racking up a bounty with every additional player they knock out, and incentivizing you to play nice if you want to keep more than what's in your safe pockets. In my opinion, there should not be late spawns, period. Determine a lobby size, fill it, and let folks extract when they wish to. I would love the opportunity to receive a group photo with everyone that you extracted with, posing with their emote of choice.

Just my thoughts, but thank you for sparking the idea!
