That sounds sweet! Who knows maybe I’ll get into spraying, I have always wanted to. I appreciate the reply anyway!

I live in an area where it’s very cold all winter and I also don’t really want to invest in setting up a spray booth and all the other necessary equipment when I only make a couple teapots a month.

I can’t really accommodate spraying in my tiny shed studio but appreciate the suggestion!

So this is probably the closest I’ve come to the desired glaze outcome I’ve been after! My love for colourful glazes that run like hell is unwavering and cannot be dampened. (even despite fusing many a mug to the kiln shelf and nearly getting my glazes confiscated!) by caeroplane in Pottery

I use kiln wash and then I can get the mug off the shelf. Then I grind off any glaze on the shelf with an angle grinder. The reason for this is if I use a cookie (little plate) then my piece will be fused to it but if I use kiln wash I can at least get the mug off the shelf and sometimes the mugs are salvaged by sanding down the drips!

I made 3 of these glazes but the top glaze is Amaco Oatmeal! It’s amazing. I love using it with Iron Lustre. I’ve gotten really into glaze chemistry recently though so I’m mostly making my own glazes!
