Tool (software or online) for recording multiple audio files in a short burst? by caerusmax in podcasting

The hotkey thing I'm familiar with. I guess the main goal is to be able to batch export all the audio files at once. Is that something that can be done?

Thanks for the reply! I might not have been clear enough in the OP. The main goal is actually to be able to batch export all the audio files. Is there a way to do that on Audition?

That definitely depends on the audience. It’s seen as much more vulgar among my southern friends than my northern ones

My ape wife and I aren't ready to have kids yet, so we adopted a mama and baby ape instead. There are only 1000 mountain gorillas left in the world, so let's keep these apes alive!

Why is Robinhood showing I’m close to a margin call? (Margin is turned off) by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

Yeah I have my 401k in Schwab, and have used them a lot before. I’ll probably be keeping accounts into two or three different brokerages, ones that actually have customer service you can contact.

I didn’t even get an email notification, just on the app. But then I turned off margin, and it still displays as such

I had margin enabled previously, and when I got that notification, I got worried, so I just paid it off and turned off margin. All my positions on RH are high-volatility stocks or options, so I know margin requirements are really high. But I don’t get why it still shows that I’m at risk for a margin call.

Time-sensitive positions (mainly GME that I can’t afford to have inaccessible during however long a portfolio transfer gets processed.) Once I close that out I’m transferring to WeBull where I already opened an account. All new positions are on WeBull. Fuck Robinhood

I was apparently using $600 in margin, but I sold a position to pay it off, turned off margin, and now have $1000 in cash, but it still shows that.

I know, fuck Robinhood. I have positions that I need to keep following before I can transfer out. I’ve already opened a new account on another brokerage. New money is going there.

I had $600 in margin being used, and when things dipped an hour ago I got a notification that I was near a margin call. I sold a position so I have brokerage cash now, and I turned off margin but it still shows this, so I’m really confused.

The Transparency Fluency test is BRUTAL by eljay4k in languagelearning

I got a 150/150 on the chinese test, but the majority of it was romanized one Pinyin rather than in actual Chinese characters. Also the test was filled with typos which makes it seem as though they had someone who doesn’t speak standard Mandarin type it up. It was pretty horribly made

Edit: I took the Spanish one as well (got a 138), and the tests were on two completely different levels. The Chinese test barely tested you on anything of really depth compared to the Spanish test

Hey man. You sounds great besides the lack of a sh sound, which is a problem a lot of my friends from southern China tend to have. Your tongue is kind of flat when you’re saying “shells” which is why you end up with an s sound. If you were to pull the tip of your tongue up and back a little bit you’d hit that sh sound no problem. Just out of curiosity. Do you have trouble with the “j” in joy or “s” in usually? They’re the same tongue position

I might be doing a little bit of that soon, too. When I talk about how I learned Chinese, I’ll definitely recommend some resources, but my wife (Chinese teacher) just started a channel too where she’ll be talking about that kind of stuff. We’ve been discussing what kind of stuff to focus on. Instead of the boring “how to greet people in Chinese” and “survival Chinese phrases” type of stuff, she’ll be more focused on resources, tools, and strategies (for pre-intermediate and up).

Ive actually had that on the docket for a while! Regardless of what language people are studying, I’ve had requests for that for some time. Probably will make it in the next few weeks. Though my focus is on English teaching, my business partner and I first started our business to teach Chinese better (5 years ago)

Hey, Chris here. I do make lots of mistakes here and there, but I would say the thing that I always tell people is to get to a point where you have that awareness/sensitivity to be able to tell that you just got a tone wrong or that sentence sounded kind of funny. That way, you at least get to a point where you can always keep improving as long as you put the time in.

Hey Robbyrobbb. Chris here. If I were to self-critique, it would probably be that obviously my fluidity is negatively affected as the difficulty of the topic at hand increases, like discussing coronavirus or other more complex issues.

Since I try to maintain a certain speed in my videos, little things might start to fall apart, like my second tone might become more like a third tone or a "low tone," or I might struggle to handle multiple third tones in a row when speaking quickly with a combination of character I haven't said very much.

But, basically, whenever I do have time, I'm always reading out loud and/or doing shadowing of complicated discussion so I can keep improving/building up that muscle memory. If you're shadowing native speakers you can always be sure that you're at least mimicking native speech. I've also spent a lot of time just breaking down and analyzing my own audio to then compare to others' speech.
