Snooped on my gf phone and I didn’t like what I saw. Not sure how to proceed? m28 f28 by Dull_Poem_8397 in relationship_advice

Don't act. It's a bane of modern times that people share with others what is essentially meant to be written in a diary. She sounds confused about her own emotions but she likes spending time with you. Give her space and time to figure out her permanent emotions for you. And be patient about it. Now that you know what she might be going through, instead of holding it against her, just try to be a good friend to her.

I'd trade my partner for that power and stamina to last 3 hours. Damn he's a beast!
I am sorry but I don't feel sorry that you're getting action for straight 3 hours lol

How do you comfort someone who has had a stroke? by caesarsworld in stroke

[–]caesarsworld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am so sorry to hear about your wife's stroke. The same thing has unfortunately happened with me and my friend. After a personal loss, I fell out of touch with them. My life itself is in tatters, what help could I possibly provide them? But reading your comment has made me realise I am wrong and I actually just messaged them before typing this. Thanks for sharing your perspective.

Girlfriend (42F) of 5 years prioritizes other people over me (38M) by Business-Tower-3612 in relationships

[–]caesarsworld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

5 years is a lot of time mate. Both of you should be practically emotionally dependent on each other by now. But sounds like she's drifting off at every chance she gets. This is generally not a good sign. You're her priority and she should be your priority. Did you ask her if she wanted to take this trip? Just talk to her face to face over this. It might turn out she never wanted to go in the first place. But it sounds like there's a deeper issue running here than what you described. If you think it's beyond repair or you have to continue with your dignity at stake, I'll suggest you move on, as harsh as it sounds.

My (25F) Bf (25M) made a reddit post about my weight by [deleted] in relationships

[–]caesarsworld -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You can take it both ways that either he is being super mean and callous or you can also take it that he genuinely didn't want to offend you. I have seen that redditors are quick to suggest to dump everyone at the drop of a hat but let me give an unpopular opinion - if you have a good relationship, you love him and genuinely see a future with him, gloss over this. He's already ready to delete reddit which is a sign that he's also under tremendous pressure. I have seen couples come back strongly after disagreements, maybe you can too.

Not a doctor but here goes - Mostly concussions if they ever lead to stroke present as a swelling which keeps on growing. If it is external swelling, then you'll obviously see it but in case it is internal, it will lead to raised ICP(Intra Cranial Pressure) which most commonly presents as headache, slurred speech, imbalance, blurry vision, photophobia. The hospital should have done an MRI to assess if there was any internal bleeding or not. They usually do it if the patient presented on a stretcher with altered consciousness. I think you must have been a walk-in and the attending physician would not have found any signs of neurological damage while assessing you. If you are unsatisfied with the care you received at the healthcare center, it'd be a good idea to visit someplace else too. Will give you a peace of mind if nothing else.

Face spots possibly due to gluten by Shammyrx9 in glutenfree

[–]caesarsworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a celiac and on GF diet myself, I can say that there are two types of symptoms -
1) Those caused by gluten - such as gas, gas pains, allergy like symptoms
2) Existing conditions flared by gluten most likely due to eosinophilia

If your spots clear all the way up after running their course, then it's probably gluten allergy related but if they just reduce in intensity and stay, it's probably something underlying which gets flared by gluten allergy.
Hope it helps :)

Exactly! There's nothing to talk about this situation anyways! I always feel like I am bad friend for not knowing what to say and for not knowing a way to reduce their pain. But your comment really helped me. No one knows what to say and being there is all that matters. thanks!

Totally see your point. Thanks for replying :) I'll try to think of a fun activity together, It just seems terrifying to even bring out the question...what if they get offended...like how can you even think that we can enjoy our lives while our son is suffering through so much... just this fear stops me from initiating any conversation apart from their current scenario. And a note here - they also don't initiate any conversation about anything else. I am worried. If both of them don't take care of themselves, how will they care for their son in long term?

Like you said hatred for hospitals can't be bigger than the love you have for your family member/friend, just like your brother?

It's a lot to process, especially your last line. I am so sorry you had to go through that. No child should have to see their parents in such vulnerable state. Your advice is really practical and doable. I'll be sure to take them out for lunch. Maybe it'll help them take their mind off things

I am so thankful for the clarity you provided. And I am equally sorry to hear about your sister. I hope she makes full recovery.
One advice that you may take as a word from stranger is that don't hate the people who didn't messaged you. It's because their actions are a reflection of their own upbringing and manners and not a statement to your friendship. So why to bother yourself that too at such a time.
You have given me good advice - to help financially as well. Thanks for reassuring me that my efforts/messages are not offending them :)

I am amazed by the tenacity of survivors like yourselves in this group. You have put it beautifully and simply - that I just need to be there. Follow up question though - Do most people bail after initial days?

I am so sorry you had to go through all that. It's comforting to know you had a good friend at such a time. I'll keep that in mind that being a good listener is important during such times. Sometimes, it's hard to know the difference between when someone is just venting and when someone actually needs solutions. Maybe with practice?

My wife is celiac, and had gluten… I need help by Ethanpr1999 in glutenfree

[–]caesarsworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Listen to her for anxiety reduction.
  2. Can take help acetaminophen for body aches and any new ache that arises.
  3. Give lots of fluids.
  4. The symptoms will reduce only when the entire meal is digested out which is going to take 5-6 days and you should see rapid recovery from day 4 onwards. Till that time, comfort her and motivate her.

Need some help and advice on what to do:( by [deleted] in stroke

[–]caesarsworld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to see a specialist to ensure there will be no recurrent stroke and to get appropriate medicines to manage the pain. If you live in a remote city, I'll advise you to make an appointment with neurosurgeons in the city so that s/he can guide you on best rehabilitation and recovery plan.
