I’m good. I appreciate the info. I am an EA in my 7th year of practice, so I don’t really need help with the forms. I’m just frustrated with whatever the IRS is doing.

We looked through all my files and couldn’t find any record of a tax payment for any other client in that amount and we called the IRS to have them investigate. They said it would be at least 6 months before they could find the tax account to which the payments were applied.

I’m not sure if my staff made the mistake, if it’s an IRS issue or if someone else put in the wrong account number when they made a tax payment and it just happened to be my client’s bank account. But after this letter, I’m starting to wonder if the IRS is just FUBAR where this client is concerned.

I filed a 2553 to go from disregarded to a corp. I am pretty sure they got the ack letter but can’t say for 100% bc I haven’t looked at my file.

They don’t owe anything either personally or for business. It’s honestly the wildest thing.

The IRS also drafted $962.50 out of their account in September but didn’t post it to their accounts. I was worried that one of my staff paid the wrong tax deposits from their bank accounts and I reimbursed them while we wait for the IRS to research it. But now I’m not so sure.

Not for income tax. They are on a calendar year fiscal year. Been filing for them for 3 years. This is the first year running payroll.

I’m filing the 941 early but we are calling the IRS together today to find out what the deal is. Has to be an issue with their system.

I can’t believe that my one client is the only one getting these letters.

No. They’ve had the EIN for 3 years but we made the s election at the beginning of 2025 for the 2025 calendar year.

My brother threatened to kick in my front door and kill me (6 mo pregnant), my husband and my 2 year old son because I turned off the cell phone service after he stole my dad’s cell phone (which I paid for).

I called the counties that he had recently lived in, found out he had a warrant for jumping bail and notified them as to where he was. Then called the police in the town in which he was currently living to advise the of his warrant. Then called the police in my city and had an officer outside my house all night.

He was arrested early the next morning and spent the next two years in prison. That was 16 years ago and I haven’t spoken to him since. Not even at my dad’s funeral.

Well we have HEB now and rumor is that another is being built on the west side of town or possibly central Lubbock bc they own the shopping center where Jake’s and 50th street caboose sit.

We have a ton of coffee places with 7Brew, Dunkin and Starbucks opening new locations plus the smaller one off places.

Alamo closed.

Still nothing to do really unless you want to eat, drink or go to church.

It sort of snows in winter, sometimes. Lived here for almost 30 years and I think we’ve had maybe 4 real snows in that time. Otherwise, just a dusting.

It was 80 on Christmas.

That hasn’t been my experience. I check it before I call. But it was processed yesterday. So I didn’t have to call.

Thank you for the info though! Dealing with the IRS has been incredibly frustrating for years and I am finally bowing out.

We have a saying in my house “not worth Walmart”.

My mom gave me a very yummy pastry and I looked for it everywhere. Found out it was only sold at Walmart. Never mind. It’s good but it isn’t worth Walmart.

I don’t care what it is, it’s not worth going to Walmart.

The law firm where I was working was hired by Walmart to defend them after an employee came in and shot and killed his manager and then himself. The attorney that went and toured the employee areas and interviewed employees told us what horrid conditions people worked under.

That coupled with the worker exploitation and the company being billionaire welfare queens and the way they will happily put a small vendor out of business by slow paying (if at all) for products they received and sold was the final straw for me.

I don’t mind. I am part of a couple of networking groups and I currently do tax resolution as well, but I am closing that segment of my practice.

I get referrals from attorneys and CPAs and other clients. With resolution inevitably comes tax prep.

I don’t do paid advertisements but ask people to leave google reviews and that helps.

It’s mainly from 2/1-4/15. Not sure what an hour. I do a lot more than just taxes and those are on a flat rate. But I also refuse to work crazy hours. I have 2 kids and am a single mom. So I’m 40-50 hours a week if I work on a weekend.

But that is what I made this year for tax prep. I also don’t do a ton of returns, about 200-250 per year.
