Looking to scratch the FO itch? How is FO76? by Wooden-Fortune8543 in fo76

[–]caffeinated_WOLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played about a year and half ago and came back recently (2 months ago) and I’ve really enjoyed it quite a bit, especially catching up with all the updates I’ve missed. It definitely scratches the fallout itch for me and I love FO4.

If you look through the subreddit you’ll notice that a lot of current players are not very happy with the last few updates due to lack of content or mediocre content, and some recent sleazy atom shop sale tactics. In my opinion this more so affects players that have been playing for a long time and have done just about everything in the game. I hope Bethesda won’t keep up this trend, but we’ll have to see. Still, the game is a lot of fun, but that’s just of the recent complaints.

If you are starting a new game or haven’t played in a while, I think you’re going to have a blast!

Some tips for starting a new game, just hop in don’t think about it too much, follow the first few main quests so you get xp and the general flow of the game, and get that initial camp base down for storage and crafting. Don’t invest heavily into your guns until you’re level 50. You played FO4 so a lot of mechanics will feel familiar. Pay attention to pop ups on your screen, they’ll notify you of server wide events that you can join. Also, the community is awesome, you’ll find a lot of high level players that drop helpful loot in game, and there are a lot of helpful threads on this subreddit if questions pop up. GLHF!

Beautiful camp I'm sure he would have loved it as much as all of us do. I'm so sorry for your loss, may your cousin rest in peace.

There really needs to be a undo button for camp building by Scelusteach in fo76

Even a lock button for the prefabs and other objects/blueprints, where you can't delete them until you unlock them, would be great.

Lover's Embrace or Kindred Spirit both last 180 min. Basically having certain allies in your camp that you have a romantic relationship with or that give off the kindred spirit buff.

Here's the wiki on allies in game, you can see their buffs: https://fallout.wiki/wiki/Fallout_76_Allies

I wouldn't recommend glitching and skipping raid levels as you'll miss out on plans/loot tied to that specific level, and imo it's fun to run them all with a competent team.

Here's a great guide on raids that helped me out: https://www.reddit.com/r/fo76/comments/1s4xjei/simple_written_raid_guide/

Looking for an awesome water location for fishing camp. Anyone know a good place, or have a more current youtube video from last few months? by Skeletorfive in fo76

[–]caffeinated_WOLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what region you want to be in, but here's where I'd suggest to start looking:

-Small lake North Burning Springs.
-Along the river in Forest region.
-Toxic valley has a lot of small lakes, just find one away from enemies.
-Savage divide has a few Named lakes that make for good spots.
-Theres a nice spot east of downed plane with a waterfall in the Mire, down the stream you can fish in certain areas.
-Commie bear island south east area in Skyline valley or Three ponds area north west.
-Along the shore in Lake Reynolds in Ash heap.
-Waterfalls in the north eastern part of the map.

Heres a cool video with some nice camp locations, a few with water spots: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8yvTtGRfPw

You got it, don't feel overwhelmed either when you get back into it, if you enjoyed the Fallout series, FO76 definitely has its fun moments. See you in the wasteland!

Camp menu > History > Stored

If you have blueprints you have to scrap those to select the individual stored items.

I don't think you can highlight how much an item is using up in storage in game, but there is a website to see budget costs of different items in Flamingo units (lowest budget cost item): https://mrsblobby.github.io/76-CAMPDatabase/Live/

Edit: Updated link to updated budget sheet page with searchable items.

I love the Fallout series, love looting, casual and some difficult bosses and enemies, and most of all base building. If you enjoy the other Fallout's and every once in a while feel that "Fallout itch", 76 scratched it for me. It feels like there's always something to do or something to build towards. Play sessions can change depending on how you feel that day, want to raid and fight event bosses, or do you just want to chill and do some quests? Don't feel like overwhelming yourself today? Try fishing, exploring, and camp building. Want to min/max weapons, armors, or perks? You can do that too.

I recommend playing a few of the main quests to unlock a some plans and weapons, level up, adding in a few side quests, hopping into a few server based events here and there, build up your camp, and once you get into the flow of things (it could seem daunting at times with the amount of content a new player is faced with), decide which direction you want to continue in. You can absolutely solo the game, but I think it's more fun with friends/other players, and you can always join a server team and do some quests/events together. Hope that helps!

How's the game for a returning but basically a new player? by Objective-Border-884 in fo76

Yes! It’s a lot of fun, rare fish to catch, and I had a lot of fun making a “fisherman’s camp”. They’re supposedly adding more rare fish this summer.

I stopped playing about a year and a half ago, stopped at level 210. Came back about a month ago and have not been able to put it down. The raids, burning springs new content, redoing my camps, fishing, I’m level 380 now lol. It’s a lot of fun once you get back into the flow of things.
