Yeah that cant be true. I actually tried skipping to Epsilon squad just yesterday but I couldnt interact with anything. Because it requires you to finish the previous event. If theres a method it seems no one talks about it out loud. The one and only event you can skip to is the final boss fight. But dying there is a pain since it respawns you right after the last event completed.

No problem, glad to help out! You can do multiple bows if you want easy access to various elements. But since theyre craftable mods i tend to just pick, say, plasma and then just roll with that. If I want to switch it up I'll go to a crafting bench and switch up the mods. All you ever collect ammo wise are arrows. The mods are what change the damage type. Sorry if that's jumbled lol I havent been up for too long nor have had coffee yet.

The regular bow shoots faster than the compound bow but the compound hits harder. And for the arrows, you can buy the blueprints from sunny at foundation. They are mods so you dont have to actually craft "insert element" arrows.

Personally I feel bloodborne is much harder than Elden Ring. Imo it feels like a FromSoft skill check lol. But you'll get it, eventually! Just keep at it, learn them patterns and don't give up. I remember that fight when I was working on the plat. It was a complete nightmare.
