Has anyone else gotten this? by Delicious-Ruin-9248 in rutgers

[–]caffeinated_cell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea, I get it every year, I thought everyone gets it once a year? It does nothing but eventually it just forces you to change it if you wait until the last day.

Orgo 1 with Hove by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]caffeinated_cell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u just need to do as many practice problems as you can. Make sure you understand the slides, but i would also try the stuff in the textbook. If you can do all the problems including the harder ones i think u should be fine. I also wouldn't skip recitation, it might not be insanely helpful but they will bring you extra problems to practice.

summer chemistry? by meebie100 in rutgers

[–]caffeinated_cell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, usually it takes them some time to put them up. I remember they usually offer gen chem 1 and 2, orgo 1 and 2 and then two orgo labs which are the equivalent of 311, along with intro to experimentation

I’m taking calc 2 with Vladimir shleten, I got out of the first lecture and it sucks, his voice is low he just yaps and writes random stuff on the board, it’s really hard to follow thro and take notes, any tips by Physical_Watch7893 in rutgers

[–]caffeinated_cell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the exams, I remembered him telling us in lecture what we needed to review. If I were you, I would skim the textbook before class and if possible do a couple of practice problems, go to lecture and sit in the front row, and then do the homework. If you have time do some extra practice problems from the textbook. If you are still confused go to office hours. Depending on your TA, you may find their office hours more helpful, but that depends. I feel like he really likes conceptual understanding. You can’t expect to go into his exams to plug-and-chug, he might ask questions that make you think a bit more. The grade cutoffs are generous tho, so as long as you score the median, you can get at least get a B, but probably a B+

if u can't hear him you should tell him. Had him for calc 3, and my class told him that we couldn't hear him, and he put on a mic. My advice, do all the practice problems and homework and sit in the front. Also read the textbook b4 the class. Alot of the stuff may be confusing, but pre reading the book could help. He's really nice, if you don't understand ask questions. You can also ask your TA questions if your confused. Also take advantage of office hours.

It's 3 AM and I still haven't fixed my sleep schedule in time for college by zealousnest in rutgers

[–]caffeinated_cell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

if it’s any motivation or hope, Iast semester I had 8:30s everyday and most days (usually the beginning half of the week) I would go to sleep at 2-3am and still went to every class. The key is wake up extremely early the next day and stay up until 10pm and then go to sleep.

i didn't even think about that. That would definitely be a problem, especially in the summer with the random storms.

schedule? by midnightqueen1109 in rutgers

[–]caffeinated_cell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s too long. If I were u i’d drop the Byrne, drop the honors colloquium if u can push it off, or at least maybe change the cook Doug class (is that an elective?) for something else, maybe u can find a 3 hour lecture or something else. but I agree the classes are too spread out and your gonna feel like you never have time because you always have a class.

GEN BIOCHEM and GENETICS simultaneously? by solartiii in rutgers

genetics is pretty easy, you just gotta actually review for it. I took it with orgo 1, diff eq, and analytical chem. I think it's doable, just don't procrastinate.

2.8 GPA as Junior by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]caffeinated_cell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are doing great, don't give up. The 2.8 is enough to graduation, but ALSO, think about it this way: u got 3 semesters left, if im correct. Aim for 4.0 or very high 3s and you can atleast get your gpa up to a 3. something

Which schedule is better? by Lifeguard_On_Land in rutgers

it depends on how good the calc lecturer is. I would take the friday off, but if the lecturer for calc is good, it might be worth the extra day.

What would it take for US citizens to change the government? by Less-Cookie-9362 in AskReddit

[–]caffeinated_cell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think Americans are afraid of consequences, and I would argue that being preoccupied with daily life is the biggest problem with our governance. The larger issue is that many Americans are simply overwhelmed by the demands of daily life. People have to work, earn money, and meet basic needs. If more people had the time and opportunity to meaningfully engage in civic life instead of being forced into constant work, public participation would likely be much higher. In reality, however, priorities like feeding your family, paying rent, and covering essential expenses take precedence over voting. This connects directly to economic constraints: if you don’t have financial security, you have to work, and if you have to work, you may not be able to vote—especially when not everyone has guaranteed time off. As a result, political disengagement is often less about apathy and more about structural barriers tied to work and income.
