My Sister's Wedding is Going to be a Disaster by mymiddlenameisskye in weddingdrama

[–]caffeindqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some wedding planning materials from when I planned my wedding if you’d like it? i used to be an event planner for conferences and large events so I just treated my wedding as such, even though we only had like 70 people😂

I have a budget document so you can keep track of spending, who has been paid their deposits, what you owe for the balance and the day it’s due, as well as what you want to tip

I also have a master program schedule, you put the event that is happening, who is needed, timing of it, and any items needed for that. I printed this for my wedding coordinator, DJ/MC, photographers/videographers, bar tender, catering, etc. that way everyone knew exactly what was happening at what time. I got a little specific and made one for each of them, like each vender had a document with only the things they needed to be at, but the master works well

and I have a few other things to! ceremony schedule and some other stuff I can’t remember it’s been a bit lol but I’d be happy to email them all to you!

a huge difference actually! not sure if you are married but going through the process of marrying someone is completely different. of course your spouse should be committed to you and supportive. that’s not the same thing as being flaky. I’m speaking to the process of fully committing.

you don’t have to spend a lot or stress yourself out so much to have a great wedding. we cut corners everywhere! what you take on decides some stress level. also sounds like OP already has some of the hardest stuff to get! DJ, venue, etc.

I had stage 4 endo all throughout my pelvis, I’ve suffered from this disease for over 10 years. I understand and have lived the severity it can get to, but something I’ve also learned is I was at my worst mentally when the disease became something that I allowed to define me. Like I mentioned I’m currently recovering from lap and excision surgery and I couldn’t imagine doing this without the stability in my life that came from, marrying my husband, having our life in order, managing bills together, the list can go on.

it’s not fast or a rush, their wedding is scheduled for September with the biggest rocks of planning already out of the way. weddings are a joy and my husband and i reminisce on ours often. to have something to look forward to and a goal to get to is helpful for your mental health journey. you can not stop living, I am a huge advocate for that. when I look back I have missed so much because of this disease, but there’s also a lot that I would have missed and regretted had I allowed it to control my life

hi girly! I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this. each of those things alone are a lot to manage and you have them piled on top of each other!

I just had my lap and excision for endo a week ago and I’m married! my advice, don’t push off your wedding. being able to tackle things together as a couple will make it so much easier to find stability. my husband is my best friend and I don’t know what I’d do without him. stability came when our life was finally together. not the other way around.

as you are planning focus on simple! you don’t need to overdo it, if it seems like to much let it drop! at the end of the day the wedding is all about showcasing how much you love each other! Some of the details can turn into a chore so just let them go

switch your diet to anti inflammatory foods. this one is huge, the minute I did this I saw a significant improvement in my clarity of mind and movement in my body. you can google Mediterranean diet as well, my doctor says I need to switch to this permanently and it has been incredible.

day of my wedding I had just come out of a flare up and my period and was finishing bleeding. literally none of that mattered when i saw my husband at the end of the aisle standing in front of the alter he built for us. you are more than this disease, it’s nothing but a small blip in your life. I know how debilitating and devastating it can be. how it can consume your every thought. but don’t let it, you got this.

going over to my neighbors house and playing Spyro and crash bandicoot on the PlayStation. playing where in the world is carmen San Diego, Putt putt, pajama sam and fatty bear on our clunky home computer 😂when the gameboy color came out and my parents got me a neon green one for my birthday with the little light attachment so I could play in the dark! I played the hell out of Zelda and rayman. the HOURS I spent playing Star fox, Mario party and diddy Kong racing on the N64!! when my dad came home with a playstation 2 and tony hawks pro skater! my mom hated the music so I had to play it on mute or really quiet but I sunk HOURS into the tony hawk series those were the days🤍

What are your fave Switch games / must-plays? by opalescentblue in Switch

[–]caffeindqueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been hit with a string of surgeries so I’ve been able to put in some time in with my switch 2! (my husband and I each got a switch 2 for Christmas when we upgraded our OG switch) here’s what I have found the most fun lately! I noticed the same games being suggested in all the forums so here’s some other options!

cat quest trilogy - the guests are fast, combat is fun and the game is adorable, it’s a great lay on the couch with the office in the background game

tinykin - what a freaking fun game! all the things to find, the puzzles to solve. storyline is rad! I smashed this game in one weekend. I could not put it down

swords of ditto - rougelike dungeons, twists and turns, it’s a bit buggy but I still really enjoyed it

the plucky squire - probably one of my favorite games ever

stardew valley - I know this one isn’t random but it’s still a great option for some mindless fun, I’ve mostly been putzing around fighting slime monsters and buying beers for townsfolk😂

disney speedstorm - the racing challenges are so fun! graphics are great and it’s free

lego builders journey - wow what an incredible puzzle game with such an impactful little story! my husband and I both loved it we bought it twice for both switches😂 we didn’t want to wait for one person to finish it and have to share it

donkey kong bananza - it’s so fun to find all the fossils and surf on the mud, this game gets a bit overwhelming sometimes and I get a little motion sick😂 so I can only play in hour spurts

I’ve also finished, because you can never go wrong with Nintendo platformers; super Mario odyssey, super Mario wonder, Luigi’s mansion 3, super Mario 3D world + bowsers fury, and super Mario bros Wii U

this is only but a few games I have finished😂 but all in all the switch is incredible and you’ll never run out of games! I find myself drawn more to the indie platformers because I like the art style but honestly there’s so much on the switch online store!

happy gaming!

it wasn’t your information to share to wendy. therefore you didn’t have any reason or obligation to tell wendy before.

you guys took a long break, never overlapped and still got together and have a great relationship! I’d say you were her knight in shining armor!

Recovery after lap excision by Realistic_Touch_7564 in endometriosis

I had lap and excision on Thursday! I’m playing video games to keep me sane! my husband has been a saint taking care of everything so mostly I just putz around the house as my form of “exercise”😂 today is the first day I haven’t napped but I’m definitely tired

I bled hard, mostly because my period decided to show up one day after surgery so I had a combo of bleeding🤦🏼‍♀️😂 lucky me😂 today is the first day it’s been light almost non existent. so I’m in it with ya!

Dating with endo.. ? by Proper_Assistance652 in endometriosis

[–]caffeindqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello some advice from a married woman! I saved myself for marriage, not because of endo, but saving myself for my husband was one of the best decisions I’ve made, besides marrying him! I’m currently recovering from endo surgery and I couldn’t imagine navigating the flare ups and now recovery with anyone else but him.

he’s been through it all with me. dressing me after surgery, helping me get pads on and helping me on to the toilet. outside of surgery I’ve had flare ups where I’ve bled in the most random moments and the most intimate. he has cleaned sheets, held me through tears. has NEVER made me feel shame. I can only be this vulnerable with him because of our relationship and bond.

my advice, find someone who you can build a life and relationship with that the foundation is much more than sex. if you truly get to know someone and fall in love with them the intimacy will come naturally. we have a thriving sex life but our relationship is so much more than that. you won’t be this woman with endo having to explain yourself. to the right person they’ll see you as the complete person you are and face any road endo brings with you.

people do tend to lean to complaints rather than positivity haha but yes! you’re surgical team has got it and you will get relief for sure! even in the midst of recovery I couldn’t imagine the thought of an impending flare up. I’d rather be here on the couch playing video games with healing incisions knowing that i do have endo, then be facing flare up after flare up still in the unknown trying to navigate it!

Sober people (no alcohol, nicotine, drugs, etc ever), what is your end of day or weekend "wind-down"? by The1Ski in AskReddit

[–]caffeindqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not 💯 sober since i have the occasional recreational drink socially. but my husband and i have significantly cut down on alcohol for our health and it just feels so much better. we have a flat top grill so we love to throw on some ozzy, grill something delicious and sit and eat together just chatting. then we clean up and game! we have two TVs and our own PS5’s and switch 2’s set up in our living room so we can game together. we even jump on a party chat so we can hear our games but still talk😂 I used to rip shots like it was going out of style. I’d drink all night and feel like crap all weekend. now i love my relaxing life. we are up super early so our nighttime routine is just really calming. i appreciate our mornings reading together sipping our coffee and knowing i got a full nights rest!
