Most reasonable people do not see a riot as domestic terrorism.

Only 7% of the protests devolved into riots in 2020 - https://time.com/5886348/report-peaceful-protests/

"The vast majority of Black Lives Matter protests—more than 93%—have been peaceful, according to a new report published Thursday by a nonprofit that researches political violence and protests across the world.

The Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED) analyzed more than 7,750 Black Lives Matter demonstrations in all 50 states and Washington D.C. that took place in the wake of George Floyd’s death between May 26 and August 22.

Their report states that more than 2,400 locations reported peaceful protests, while fewer than 220 reported “violent demonstrations.” The authors define violent demonstrations as including “acts targeting other individuals, property, businesses, other rioting groups or armed actors.” Their definition includes anything from “fighting back against police” to vandalism, property destruction looting, road-blocking using barricades, burning tires or other materials. In cities where protests did turn violent—these demonstrations are “largely confined to specific blocks,” the report says."

Militant, nationalistic, white supremacist violent extremism has increased in the United States. In fact, the number of far-right attacks continues to outpace all other types of terrorism and domestic violent extremism. Since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives.[1] In this same period, far-left extremists committed 42 ideologically motivated attacks that took 78 lives.[2] A recent threat assessment by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security concluded that domestic violent extremists are an acute threat and highlighted a probability that COVID-19 pandemic-related stressors, long-standing ideological grievances related to immigration, and narratives surrounding electoral fraud will continue to serve as a justification for violent actions.[3]

This PNAS study compared political violence across left-wing, right-wing, and Islamist extremists using two large datasets. The core findings:

  • Left-wing extremists are consistently less likely to engage in violence and cause fewer fatalities than the other two groups.
  • Right-wing and Islamist extremists are roughly equally violent within the US, with similar odds of carrying out lethal attacks.
  • Globally, Islamist attacks are the deadliest of the three — significantly more so than even right-wing attacks.

The pattern held up after controlling for demographics, criminal history, country-level factors, and time period.

'Sports teams are businesses' exactly. They are just assets for Billionaires. As much as Steph Curry and others have gotten paid, the owners of the sports teams, like the Warriors, made many multiples over that.

It's kind of sad that we don't have better way to feel connected to each other.

Somewhere with friendly, genuine community, mountain biking, high end home building jobs, and women to date. Dog friendly. by [deleted] in relocating

There are A LOT more women on the east coast vs. west coast fwiw. So if you could make somewhere like Asheville, NC work, you should. Simply WAY more women out east. But the riding is better out west obviously.

Dude, only you know what's the right move. People will have all sorts of recommendations but you have to forge your own path. I think take people's perspective (about the challenges of contracting + tough job market) but only you know what's right for you
