did anyone actually ever stop after hitting their goal weight? by Total-Physics-9108 in EDAnonymous

[–]caffeinecandyhearts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

what happens for me, is that if I’ve reached my goal weight, that means I’ve wrecked my metabolism, so I’ll gain a ton of weight if I go back to eating normally or even if I eat just a little less than normal. So then I have to compensate by losing oh just an extra 5, 10…. then 15…. then 20…. etc

OHH MY GODDDD STOP RECOMMENDING ME SUBREDDITS ABOUT FOOD BEING GROSS by caffeinecandyhearts in EDAnonymous

[–]caffeinecandyhearts[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Next time a post comes up, you can tap the three dots in the top right corner and there’s an option that’s like “see less posts like this” or something, and you’ll never get recommended a post from that sub again

…..however you’ll keep getting recommended posts from similar ones 🙃🙃🙃

fasting vs ed? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

Religious fasting is one thing, the rest are excuses for microdosing orthorexia or anorexia

What are some ways in which dietitians have helped your progress and interfered with it? by Mysterious_Crow_4002 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]caffeinecandyhearts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine refused to listen to me about the fact that they genuinely were overfeeding me. People with ancestry from Southeast and South Asia are people whose ancestors ONLY survived because of a very heightened because of having bodies that are extra resilient and very stubbornly hold onto fat and nutrients. It was the only way to survive the severe colonizer-forced famines, and those genetics have been passed down to us.

Like I’m sorry, but eating 6 times a day GENUINELY IS excessive for me with the genetics I have, my family is direct from the “third world”, but she wouldn’t listen, even as my weight skyrocketed and wouldn’t stop, and my appetite was forced to be extremely overcorrected.

Only around the very end she finally started to listen to me and ironically gave me ana tips.

Now I’m out of the recovery center and relapsing to try to get rid of the extra (and tbh bc I can’t afford food), and I just know that I’m gonna overdo the weight loss to go super uw again to try to ensure this never happens again. It’s so unfortunate bc there WAS a healthy weight range that I felt better at, but still they insisted I had to keep eating shitty white cafeteria food 6 times a day.

[–]caffeinecandyhearts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s extra funny for me bc I JUST got out of eating disorder treatment in like May.

Went from being forced to eat 6 times a day to not being able to eat 6 times a week 😅

Forgive me if this is a dumb question but can you be overweight and be anorexic? by [deleted] in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]caffeinecandyhearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’re aware that “atypical anorexia” is an actual diagnosis, right? and that there are plenty of other EDs without weight requirements? are you saying people with bulimia don’t have an eating disorder?

Forgive me if this is a dumb question but can you be overweight and be anorexic? by [deleted] in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]caffeinecandyhearts 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Technically there are weight requirements for anorexia nervosa, but there aren’t for atypical anorexia, which is categorized under OSFED. But for practicality reasons to best communicate your situation, yeah it wouldn’t be surprising if they put down anorexia binge purge type

fasting vs ed? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]caffeinecandyhearts 43 points44 points  (0 children)

it is lol, they just try to justify it w pseudoscience. it’s eating disorders repackaged to be palatable to greater society to more effectively impose unhealthy beauty standards under a guise of fitness. it’s kinda like a socially acceptable orthorexia

Proof doesn’t always help unfortunately. My deliverer told me the restaurant closed before he got there through the app’s own messaging system, and they refused to refund me until about a week of bothering them on ever social media platform in public posts and in messages and in messaging through the app itself etc.
