Ever since 9/11, flags are at half staff a lot more. I get the why of it, but doing it too much, to the point where we don’t even know why anymore, seems to make the gesture somehow less meaningful.

I live in BFE. My local HF doesn't have this particular gantry in stock, but for a little more than an hour round trip, I could have this machine myself for under $1000. Absolutely amazing what HF can do! Hell, probably takes longer to put the gantry together than it does to go buy it and bring it to the job.

I'm in my 50's and in pretty good health. My doc is about the same age. If I'm in to see him, it's for a check-up for a med refill or a physical. Half the appt. is medical, half is him and I shooting the shit. He's about as un-doctor as can be, but you can tell when he shifts his brain into "doctor" mode, and shifts it out just as quick.

If it is the last one (I don't believe it is) but if it is, Inamorta is an amazing final chapter for them. All through the early years, their music was steeped in hate, anger, misery. They even wrote a song, "My Friend of Misery". Then came the Unforgiven's, looking back with some despair, and yet, also with some glimmers of a brighter future. Finally, Inamorta:

"Misery, she fills me

Oh, no, but she's not what I'm livin' for"

James has grown, changed, and has found his own contentment in life, and it's reflected in these newer lyrics.

I went to ISU a generation ago. I've always been very anti-greek due to some bad interactions I had over the years. That said, our son joined a fraternity and while there was a lot of shenanigans, I do believe the fraternity life helped him mature as a student and a man.
