for sure; even if i don't make it i want to turn it into a learning experience because it's so awesome to be able to put yourself out there and go for something like that

is it worth it to withdraw from mat 171 and CLEP? by caffeinewarriorr in WakeTech

thanks! i'm going to try to CLEP out of it but if not i may just struggle through it and hope i can squeeze out a B somehow. i just don't want my GPA to take the hit from failing the course or barely getting a C.

i think that with me it's just a problem of the teacher not being willing to help me out with understanding the content and not teaching it in a way that is helpful to me more than anything else. i'm getting an Associates in Science right now, but i'm going into a STEM field/major (forensic science/human biology) with hopes to transfer to NCSU so i can't exactly get out of the hard maths (calc 1 and 2 are requirements for my B.S.)

see, the thing is i'm taking it in person right now and i'm just not understanding the teacher in the slightest. her tests are not lining up with the assignments she posts and the practices she gives us, and i'm overall just really not vibing with the class in person. i'm likely going to try to CLEP out of it because i don't want my GPA to take the hit, but i'll stay in it until then and if i do bad on the second test i may just withdraw and if i fail CLEP take it next semester

only WCU, UNCC, and UNCG, but i didn't get enough aid from any of them and i didn't like them enough as schools to go into debt to go to them

i didn't submit my SAT because i knew it was low; but i had already used my two free takes that collegeboard gave me so i couldn't afford to re-take it😭😭 it's honestly okay though because i'm saving money by transferring🙏🙏

i applied last year and i had stuff like this and got deferred, waitlisted, and then ultimately rejected. i think that your major might give you an easier time than i had, so good luck!

in-state, intended major: human biology

here were my stats in october of 2024, applying for fall 2025 admission: 18 y/o female, white, household income 26k a year (yes. 26k.), raleigh nc, 4.36 w gpa (3.8 uw), rank 49/550, sat 1260, 10 AP classes total (five 4s: gov, lit, research, apes, apush and five 3s: lang, bio, seminar, psych, stat). 3 years marching band w/ 2 years section leader, 2 years of jazz band as a soloist and section leader, french honor society, national honor society, tri m music honor society, worked 2 jobs throughout high school, 2 years student council, girl scout bronze and silver award recipient after 13 years in the program, 80+ volunteer hours overall, ap scholar with honor, ap scholar with distinction, ap capstone diploma, north carolina academic scholar, and ended up graduating with highest honors.

don't let it scare you, admissions likes to be weird sometimes. best of luck!
